I am currently making a succubus PC, using the racial class to start her at level 1, I already have the mechanics down, having done this before, but I am stuck in a quandry as to multi-classing her. I am thinking of doing a rogue, and leading into a shadow dancer when high enough levels, but the thought of sorcerer keeps nagging at the back of my mind, and there is the possibility of a class I have overlooked that would suite her better. I am planning on keeping with the whole succubus mystique, of a subtle manipulator.
Also I was wondering if anyone would have any ideas on a suitable mount, I was toying with the idea of a half fiend unicorn (black unicorn for 3.5 players), any thoughts are welcome

Oh, I forgot to mention, the GM/DM I am playing with has me designing a major artifact grade sword this succubus is supposed to get her hands on. It is in essence a nearly god level succubus who was turned into an artifact weapon by a jilted god. It is supposed to be "beneficial" on the surface, and cause all kinds of hell, hate, and discontent behind her back. Really need some creative help here, please and thank you

The trouble with monstrous characters is their levels don't readily stack with normal character levels.
I mean if you are a Succubus 8 Sorcerer 3 your sorcerer powers are not doing a lot.
Shadowdancer might be a good choice from this perspective.
A Succubus has a BaB of +8 at level 8, so you could well try to keep your melee capacity good.
Taking a Sorcerer level at level 9 and then going into Dragon Disciple could work. It sounds very odd, but it allows you to gain spells while increasing your melee ability. You can take levels in Arcane Trickster or Eldritch Knight later if desired.

Your mind didn't immediately jump to some form of grappler? For shame!
That being said, a dip in Antipaladin would be great. The alignment's already there and you could put all that Charisma to work. Otherwise your best best is probably something martial (what with the 8 level gap). Also, unless you're perfectly replicating the bestiary Succubus, you should be able to go Succubus->Shadowdancer, no need to take any other levels. With full BAB Succubus can probably start any number of prestige classes after level 8.
Honestly, Succubus has all the tools it needs to be a subtle manipulator. At-will Suggestion and Charm Monster to manipulate, Change Shape to be anyone, Ethereal Jaunt and Greater Teleport to get around (or spy). Again, all at-will. You don't need to build up that part, you need a path forward from there. And smashy beatstick suffers the least for the 8 lost levels.

Succubi have 7 HD and are CR 7, so I'm guessing a 7 level class?
After that point, I don't think a full spell caster is ever gonna be a good call. That said, a Charisma based class is obviously gonna be really good for anything approximating a Bestiary Succubus. And you can make good use of the full BAB by going with a full martial class.
So with that in mind, I'd be inclined to go Paladin, Antipaladin, or Bloodrager (depending on Alignment). All are Full BAB and make good use of the Succubus's very high Cha and Con scores.

I played a succubus once. It was introduced around level 12 if memory serves. Her backstory was that she had been summoned by a powerful wizard and bound to a ring of friend shield, except it didn't provide the ac/save bonus, only worked one way and was always on. She was also bound to it to be within a certain distance, preventing the at-will teleport from being an issue (I essentially used it as dimension door during fights). The party was ostensibly Good, but she was still Evil, but had to serve whoever had the ring, so she was mostly salacious talk, no action.
Anyways, I went Fighter. Wielding a Conductive Rapier, I'd position to guard the party's weaker members and switch between full attack and hitting with Vampiric Touch when I needed a little healing. The +7 natural AC and DR 10 cold iron or good makes you pretty much impervious in most campaigns. Being behind in class levels and Fighter was nice to catch up on some feat options.
