They are coming out with a remake. They released the teaser. I think it looks cool.
Apparantly, from remarks on Youtube, some are not too thrilled about it. I imagine many had childhoods with the originals, and for many of them it seems they are unhappy about what they've seen thus far.
Personally, I like the trailer and am far more excited by it than any of the other Disney Movies coming out (well...except for SW:R1, and MAYBE CA:CW).
I don't think it's an age thing, but maybe it is.
Yes, I've seen the original. Still Psyched from what I've seen of this movie.
There are those who are very unhappy about the trailer though.
The only thing I'm wondering is if they have the time and effort to make Jungle Book, This (which I think is great, but after reading youtube comments wonder if Disney did research on those people and how well this film will actually perform), and Beauty and the Beast remake (and supposedly a musical?)...
Why or why did they cancel Tron 3...surely they could have made room among all these remakes for that one as well! I think Tron 3 would have been a surer bet then the remakes...that's just me speaking.
Still Psyched about this movie from what I saw of it. (I've watched the trailer 4 times already).
That looks really sweet!
Too be honest the original wasn't really all that great with that being said this one could go ether way.

This...hmmm.
Okay, on the other hand, kudos to Disney for resurrecting something as old as Pete's Dragon. Pete's Dragon was a fun, dumb movie. It's corny as hell, but I have fond memories of it. And yes, to work better in this time and age the story must be upgraded. I have no problem with that.
But...I'll miss the fact that the dragon is not 2D animated. It was part of the magic of the movie, and it looked awesome. But I guess I can get over it.
This can be a good movie. I wish it would be like Flight of the Navigator or the Honey, Who Shrunk The Kids style kid-starring family movie. Trailer has a dark and serious tone, but we'll see. Hopefully optimistic.
