Good Module for a new DM

Adventures

I'm letting one of my players run a short module for the first time while I prep for a new campaign, and I was wondering what would be a good pick for a beginner DM. Any suggestions?

What level are you looking for?

Murder's Mark was my first one, and that worked pretty well. PCs have to solve a murder in order to prove the innocence of a traveling circus to the townsfolk.

If the players are more into the wacky type of adventuring, We Be Goblins is a lot of fun, pretty simple, and free. (Comes with pre-made characters, though.)

Liberty's Edge

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I'd highly recommend Crypt of the Everflame as an intro module. Its a pretty straight forward dungeon crawl but has some interesting plot turns along the way.

The Dragons Demand is also a fantastic starting point. It too has a straight forward plot and the advantage of the larger module format which gives more chances to grow into the story.

Likely level 1, since that's the simplest.

Most of the level 1 modules are designed to be a good intro point, except for we be goblins, as that's a bit too atypical for starters.

How so? I mean, besides the fact that you're all goblins, it otherwise is pretty straightforward if I'm remembering right. I got the impression that the DM was new at being a DM, not new to Pathfinder in general.

That being said, though, the ~wacky~goblin~ feel is not going to be to everyone's taste.
