Samsaran White Mage: worth it?

Advice

I was thinking I might make the titular NPC for my players in my upcoming game. a lot of them are newer to tabletop, so i figured a little help might go a long way. however, i seem to be hitting a wall. I also thought about throwing the Eldritch Font archetype on, but again: wall. Itd be stat rolling, nothing done yet. level 1 start.

thoughts, suggestions, etc?

It might help if you furtherr define the purpose and place of said NPC.

Samsaran Unlettered Arcanist can work quite well, as they can grab some spells, such as haste and slow, off of the summoner list at earlier levels than they would otherwise be available.

purpose and place is mostly just as support healer that can also blast if need be. that, and i wanted an excuse to try arcanist since its one i havent ran yet.

do Unlettered and White Mage stack, or should i just drop the idea of WM?

They do technically stack, but there's very little point in combining them, as Unlettered Arcanists get healing spells anyway from the witch list.

ah. mayhaps i shouldve looked at that one to begin with, then.

as far as the samsaran aspect, should i leave it racially stock, or is it worth dropping the skill boost for the spells from the past life?

It is definitely worth trading out the racial trait to get Mystic Past Lives.
