Non-scientific thread for the day...flumist is contagious and I'm suffering it's side effects RIGHT NOW!

Well, they needed kids to get the flumist...and I agree...it's good to have them do that.

However, EVERY year at the time the school does it's flumist, I seem to get it from kids I interact with.

It's not the flu, it's not the cold, they are the exact symptoms of the flumist vaccine (sore throat, headache...but no fever or cold). What's more, is when I've done tests to see if I've been immunized...I HAVE BEEN, without ever catching the flu OR taking the flumist.

Anyways, they had kids get the flumist at elementary schools yesterday. Unfortunately, I had to be part of a host for a party for these kids last night.

What do you know...I have the symptoms of having taken the flumist this morning.

Now granted, I AM one of those that some would say has a compromised immune system.

STILL...I look up on Quadrivalent's site...and they flat out say that one cannot get it...that the virus can't replicate and is not contagious

Those Lying Sons of....

Every year if I interact with those kids right after the flu mist...I seem to get this.

I know I can't be the only one that sees this pattern.

But, yes, this is VERY unscientific...I just notice the pattern....and that one time I tested to validate the suspicions...did the tests to see if I was...actually...indeed...vaccinated.

For me, that's evidence enough no matter what they say or how little the CDC thinks one can get it. Sometimes because I do volunteer work with kids...I have little or no choice (well, unless I abandon volunteer work with them that week) to be around the kids when they get vaccinated.

Perhaps being around dozens of them that just got vaccinated increases my chances as well.

Still....annoying.

So...it appears that one more year comes around where unwillingly I'm going to be vaccinated without actually getting the vaccine...yippee.

Anyone else get to have this fun along with me?

Every year around the time that people start getting flu shots is when ragweed pollen starts filling the air...

Also, I assure you, you absolutely cannot get flumist symptoms contagiously. The flumist symptoms are due to the administration method, not from fighting flu virus.

Oh, and also also, you can't get second-hand immunized.

And also, "it's" =/= "its."

Its complicated, knowing when to use "it's."

the dog's bone

the cat's yarn
its toy

Its complicated because its arbitrary and, ike a lot of english spelling, doesn't follow any consistent rule.

Because if you parked in 55 mile an hour traffic you'd be killed and if you didn't park on the drive way you'd crash into your living room.
