Hi all,
I'm really struggling to understand how exactly to go about handing out Chronicle sheets for the group I've just played through. The scenario was #5-08 The Confirmation.
We started with a party of 6.
Tom left after the A1 A Dangerous Path.
Oktavian left after B4 Undead End (was done before Denizens of the Deep)
Jerry left after the first turn of C The Final Exam.
Jerry's character had played a previous scenario, both other players and characters were new to Society Play.
So my questions are...
Should I give Chronicle Sheets to the two players who have not played before, and don't intend to play again?
If yes, how many encounters does Oktavian count as having completed? In terms of combat he only did A1 A Dangerous Path and B4 Undead End. Does B1 A Simple Exercise count as the 3rd encounter he needs (as per Step 3 of Filling Out a Chronicle Sheet)?

For the two that were new, I probably wouldn't bother with chronicles if they don't intend to give it another shot. If Jerry want's a chronicle you can give a partial chronicle, if he doesn't want it I wouldn't bother with it either. If Jerry wants a chronicle, I would give him something like 1exp, 0 pp, and gold minus the final encounter.

I wasn't sure if it was a case of "You should give Chronicle Sheets out no matter what."
The initial two players left because it was their first time doing PFS and play by post, they just weren't keen. Jerry just randomly stopped posting one turn into the final encounter. He was GM'ing a game too and hasn't replied to that in weeks either so hopefully everything is alright :(
Thanks for the feedback guys.

What is the decieding factor? Is it the presence of a Challenge Rating (CR)?
A valid encounter poses a challenge to the PCs, so, yes, the encounter or something in it having a Challenge Rating is a good indication.
edit: Since Oktavian has done B2, he may possibly meet the secondary success condition though he can't get the primary. Jerry potentially can meet both.
