The gadgeteering adventurer is practically cliche and I love a good cliche so I grabbed up as much stuff as I could.
Here's the random crap I cart around with me in my masterwork backpack:
wand of cure light wounds, air crystal, alchemist's fire, cardice oil, flash powder, holy water, unholy water (you never know) phosphorescent gel, smoke pellet, smoke pellet: pepper, smoke pellet: smog, tanglefoot bag, thunderstone.
I also added a number of masterwork tools
I will likely switch to a Handy Haversack before adding more stuff

Always get a steel mirror. Great for looking around corners, and doubles as an anti-vampire measure.
Sunrod. Also - if you're a character with a shield - make sure to get a shield sconce.
At low level a few torches are great. My first PFS session no one else brought any, or any alchemist fires, and we ran into a swarm. I had a dozen and passed them around and we were able to torch the swarm to death.
Antitoxin.
Antiplague.
Garlic.
Rope.
Signal whistle.

Fun question!
Spell components -> pretty much essential for any caster class
Chalk (Various colors) -> This is always useful, I love using it to mess around with enemies by putting random arrows going left or right on walls or leave notes.
A pouch with about a pound of salt -> some slimes are weak to it, most slugs hate it. Some ghosts cannot cross line of it, always fun to have with fries.
potion belt -> potion of CLW, potion of lesser restoration + whatever is situation appropriate
Smelling salts -> might be one of the most under used thing in pathfinder
Traveler's Any-Tool -> my swiss knife.
String & bell -> always neat to make trip alarms
Snacks -> for you or to befriend critters and dumb monsters.
Hip flask with holy water -> you never know.
