Living shield and greater whip mastery

Ultimate Intrigue Playtest General Discussion

Sorry if this had been answered before but I couldn't find it.

Greater whip mastery allows you to grapple someone with your whip out to 15', while living shield allows you to use a grappled target as protection from another enemy's attack.

So, if someone is attacking the avenger, do you basically pull the grappled victim into the same square as you? In front of you? Does it not work at all unless they happen to already be in the way? (How I'm ruling it until I hear differently.)

Uh... RAW wise.. it works just fine. Well looks like it to me. As the combat maneuever check is not a reposition or any specific type of check, (some of which specify in melee range etc)

It is very weird to think of.
I guess you swing them into the move, while they try to move out of the way. THey get hit, and you stop pulling and they stumble back into place? I mean I've seen that on playgrounds as a kid in dodgeball and a kid's long hair. Wasn't 15feet of course. But in pathfinder people are strong enough to lift moose by themselves.. So briefly yanking hard enough with leverage to swing someone in the way of an attack; while they scramble back makes sense to me.

weirder still if your grappling someone with the whip, and using it to block the opposite side of you I guess.

Raw it works so I personally would let the fluff be fluffed how they'd like.
but I don't like the RAW taken out because of realism train.
