Pathfinder APs to Fate Core Level Problems

Other RPGs

I've been working on converting a pathfinder adventure path (specifically Jade Regent) to Fate Core and while having a blast writing up the enemies and such involved, one of my biggest issues has been simply "How strong are Fate Core characters at Pathfinder level X?" I'm really having trouble deciding when I should be giving out what milestones in order to keep the constantly upgrading power of pathfinder feel while trying to keep my PCs at around the right power level for the adventure. Any suggestions?

Give them out as frequently as you like - at least every game session. Then adjust the enemies so their relative power compares properly to the PCs. So if the adventure is for 4th-5th level PCs and the main "Boss" is 7th level, then the enemy the Fate characters face should have an edge over them that isn't huge but is significant enough they'll have to do something more than run in swinging. Or, if you've already written the enemies as you indicate, then give out enough that the PCs will be a little weaker than the enemy they face at that point in the story, if that's what they'd be using PF rules. Honestly I'd prefer the first option, it makes it easier to judge what the enemies will need to be like as they come up, but either works.
