Is server down?

I was trying to connect to the server to activate my characters, but I can't manage to. Is it under maintenance right now?

It is down everyday at 9am pacific. Usually until 10am.

Read the patcher notes, it tells you the server downtime; daily 9-10am PST.

Of course, it would be nice if the client had a specific message to display during downtime, instead of the generic 'connection to server failed' message. It would also be nice to have an automated warning broadcast on all chat channels 15 minutes before downtime. I'm sure both will be implemented eventually.

That is a "quality of life" type improvement , so it might be way down on the "to do" list.
