Looking at the various books on Aasimar and Tiefling, I was think it may be a good idea for another race product. A book for Catfolk that gives alternate takes on the Catfolk based on what feline they resemble. Just like you get different versions of the Aasimar and Tiefling based on their parentage, there should be differences based on Catfolk that are based on lions, cheetahs, tigers, or panthers. You know, go full Thundercats on them. :P

Do not forget the Blood of the Elements. I would also like a 'Cat Book', perhaps with a 'build your own' formula. My game has a generic 'cat' race and three niche races...or maybe sub races. There are a few more in the wings, all cribbed from messageboards such as these. A few more, properly thought out, would be welcome.

"Beast Folk of Golarion" perhaps? Give options for Ratfolk, Catfolk, Lizardfolk, Gnolls, Tengu and Kitsune? I suggest a broader span of races because outside of core, people tend to have a few personal favorites, and by appealing to a broader demographic of its customers, Paizo would be getting better business from its investment into such a product.
Plus, ratfolk and gnolls are kinda soft spots for me :)

I would rather we not go beyond three races for such a book. Otherwise we end up with a couple of pages of material, which would be disappointing for people who might only be interested in one or two races in the book
I'd suggest theming them a bit more narrowly, like a book that just has the "avian" races, like Tengu, Strix, and Syrinx.

True, that'd allow quite a bit of unique fluff text to be included.

Catfolk, Ratfolk, and Kitsune - "Fur, Fang, and Claw"
Tengu, Strix, and Syrinx - "Wings of glory"
Gnolls, Lizardfolk, and Kobolds - "Noble Savages"
I'd be most interested in Ratfolk and catfolk, myself, since they're supposed to have pretty healthy populations in Golarion but their cultures and specific placements are [FILE NOT FOUND]. On the other hand, they did a whole book on Halflings and I still couldn't tell you what the race is good for* besides "playing an underdog" or "getting enslaved in a less-than-good nation."
*in terms of narrative. Okay, also in terms of playability.

I have said it before, and I'll say it every time I see catfolk love spring up...
Dogfolk! I want dogfolk! Despite their disproportionate internet presence, dogs are better than cats, yet cats always have anthropomorphic representation in everything!
Hound archons and werewolves and gnolls don't count! A wolf and a hyena aren't dogs, and hound archons aren't playable races (although it is some sweet justice that the only real anthropomorphic dog could rip to shreads a catfolk if they had equivalent levels, and hound archons are always good, while catfolk can be evil sons of all that is wrong in the world).
Darn you cat people (people that love cats), why are you so obsessed with cat-people (people that ARE cats)?! Dog people aren't nearly as obsessed with dog-people! (Which is probably why there's no dogfolk, or Thunderdogs, or other anthropomorphic dogs...)

So you acknowledge that dog people are less obsessed with dog-people (thus causing fewer appearances of dog-people in various media and settings), and then you lament that there are fewer appearances of dog-people in various media and settings.
On behalf of all cat people speaking to all dog people: it sounds like a "you" problem.

First off - EDIT I should've looked that up before typing...holy hounds, Batman, when did that change happen?
Second off, weretigers exist, and it doesn't negate the "not a playable race" phenomenon, so it is not a net gain for the canine folk.
Well there is that.
While I, too, applaud the virtuous loyalty of a hound over the fickleness of the anime catgirl, I think it really does boil down to the fact that werewolves are pretty well-entrenched (far more so than weretigers) in the kind of mythos and memetics that Pathfinder comes from. As a result any thoughts towards canine-influenced people did not gain any traction. Or to put it more plainly, "nobody involved in the decision-making ever brought it up, and aside from the already-existent werewolf there aren't many dog-person critters out there."
I mean, I can think of Thundercats, anime catgirls, and Khajit; and on the other side I can think of various "this is basically a werewolf" races.
Anyways...I wouldn't mind canids, and I've always had a soft spot for the Hound Archon. It would also be nice if Skinwalker was a better race. Their positives do NOT add up to their negatives.

Kobolds got their own book already though
Fair enough, how 'bout hobgoblin?
Lotta races can stand with gnolls and lizardfolk.
Yes, because there never was a setting with a kingdom of french dog/wolf people (lupines) called Renardy, neighbouring a kingdom of english catfolk (rakasta) called Bellayne.
Ow, dat was mah feelings!
Also, cool. I didn't find a whole lot ABOUT the lupines from that link but it was still interesting to know about. Is there more info somewhere, out of curiosity?

Dragon 325 has Lupines for 3.5 (reprinted in the Dragon Compendium). Those are more wolf than dog.
Dragon 237 has extensive information on lupines (AD&D 2nd).Neither Lupines nor Rakasta are OGC, though.
There are other dog races as well, like the Dovers from Oathbound (released for Pathfinder, though not the most balanced of settings). Or the Sibeccai from Arcana Unearthed/Evolved (released by White Wolf, so their name is Closed Content).
Dog-headed humanoids also have a firm place in mythology.
The best place for them on Golarion would, in my opinion, be southern Garund (the homeland of catfolk is also supposed to be there).
So I'd say it would be best to wait for a setting book on southern Garund before releasing a companion book on those races.

I think that's a fine idea. I'd love to have more options for the more bestial races.

Maybe even a magical fey-like variant called cait-sith. That would be fun.
