I'm trying to build a good Arcanist to throw against my party and am a little miffed in how to construct the class. If there is a pre-built sheet for Enora (Iconic) I'd love to see it.

With intelligence I get more prepared spells. With charisma, I get more innate spells. Can I archtype an Arcanist into Wildblooded in order to access the Sage bloodline and then have only one primary stat?

What else is good for an Arcanist?


There's a guide to the arcanist on this thread. But a popular view is that you play pretty much like a wizard, drop charisma if needed and just stay away from the exploits that run off of charisma.

As a boss it's really not any better than a wizard (who might possibly have a higher spell level available) or the sorcerer (who has more spells) the Arcanist has the fewest spells, but has the most flexibility. Which makes for a great PC who needs that, while boss baddies only need their spells for the 1 fight.


Arcanist can't be Wildblooded, no.

Potent Magic is awesome, Consume Magic Item is pretty solid but might not help for a one-off enemy (depends on your plans there), lots of people prefer the School Specialist for picking up nifty Wizard-fu and more spells prepared/per day.


If you want to build a blaster, Blood Arcanists can choose the best Arcana (Orc for the +1 damage/die) while also getting access to a Wizard School via School of Understanding (Admixture, in case anyone in your party has resistances or can cast resist/protection from energy).

If you're just looking to throw a God Wizard at them, then throw an actual Wizard at them. The Exploiter Wizard gets access to Arcane exploits, so he's currently the best God Wizard so far, IMO.


The conjurer, teleportation subschool, still remains the best god wizard. Shift, as a swift action, is far better than the dimensional slide exploit, and has more spells and additional flexibility. Spells are better than exploits and you can dump cha with no worry. Also exploiter wizards can't take many of the useful arcanist feats or fcbs. Wizards and sorcerers make better enemies than arcanists. And conjurers are better than exploiter wizards.
