I'm a 2nd-time DM, so please bear with me, but I have a question. Natural weapons are confusing me.
Does the first creature really get all 4 attacks?! If I maxed out the damage, I would easily one-shot most L1 builds that aren't primarily melee! If even one of those rolls critted, I could lights-out a decently built fighter.
That seems a little harsh for a CR2.
Even if I only got the expected value on each die:
3.5
2
2.5
1
4.5
2
4.5
2
I'm still dealing 22 damage! 22 damage would final death a L1 wizard.
Now, not every roll is going to hit. But still. Am I reading this wrong?

Hopefully the squishy is not next to it when it is trigerred. If the squishy goes 1rst and doesnt move away or do a full withdraw (or do this after getting hit ) then thats the squishy's problem.
It is general practice among most players to go into paranoid mode when they enter a room or area with statues, sarcophigi, etc.. Weapons readied, det magic, and so on.

Ah, but it doesn't have to be the squishy in front.
And actually, if they're in a line with Big Scary Fighter in front, it's the 2nd party member that's going to get hurt. (Though in many parties I've been in that's the guy with the reach weapon, and that's usually another BSF, so still probably ok!)
Now I just have to get a group together.
