The open call voting is coming, I for one am itching to start pressing those like buttons. When they announced the open call public voting the first time I was skeptical...but turns out I think it has become one of the best parts of the contest.
It takes time and dedication to sit through the voting grind, some will certainly make Champion Voter again...really...nothing else better to do? :) Whether you vote 5000 times or 500 times we need you to evaluate and pick for YOUR favorites. It takes time but it the end it is worth it.
We get to see lots and lots of entries, some great others not so much, but in the process we get to learn from all the things we see.
So VOTE EARLY and VOTE OFTEN or at least as soon as the booth opens and 60 seconds has passed.
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! I can't wait to see what goodies this year will bring.

If you are serious about wanting to write for RPGs, reading the slush pile voting on the submissions, is a tremendous learning experience.
Read the Ramble/Praise threads, too -- not for what you might learn about your item, but what you learn about the ones you are voting on. You want to know what they're doing right and doing wrong. If you approach this right, you'll learn as much in three weeks of voting as you would in a year of critique groups.

Checks clock - ooohh, still some time for some Draenor Stronghold tweaking - whooosh!
I for one have been sitting the competition out due to exam since the voting was introduced and have only taken the briefest look at the process in the past. I look forward to it, and respect those with the endurance and will to sit through endless votes on items through this season, which must surely be busy to most people. Why, I hope to make as much time as possible for the voting myself, time optimist that I am.
Well, enjoy and, because I can and everything is better in Latin:
Avete et valete atque omnes salutamini.
No, it's a thread about people killing each other for sport in arenas.
How can we vote early when the voting isn't even open yet? :D
Come on clock...I wanna VOTE!
Go forth and vote, my friends! I will join you, though using my judge-like superpowers to quantum vote by tackling each item one at a time. We'll see how many I manage!
The vote button's not appearing!

F5 like it's a Reaper Kickstarter....!
Could it be some sort of evil Superstar test? "Who can find the button for voting? Only those of Superstar quality ever will."

Nah...they just decided at the eleventh hour to do away with public voting and select the top 32 via a complicated series of d4 rolls.

it started working for me... first pairing two wondrous items? (that I swear I saw last year)...
Yep, me too. Didn't this happen last year, that the first few pairings were from the previous year's list?
That makes four of us with two wondrous item pairings on our first vote. Coincidence, or bug?
Yup; second pull was corrected. Though everything is centered...
Yeah, right stuff now.
I can confirm one of you has at least one vote. :-)
Staff vs. Wondrous Item. That was easy... :P
Anyone else seeing everything Center Formatted?
Andrew Black wrote: Anyone else seeing everything Center Formatted? Yes, I think this might slowly drive me mad if it persists throughout the voting.
Yup; I'm sure they're fix it soon. :)
Wow, another Wondrous Item, this time against a Rod. People sure are making it easy this year...though when is the cull again? :)
Weird, I haven't seen any wondrous items at all yet.
bugley, can you PM me the wondrous item names you saw, if you remember? (not the first pair from last year, the ones that were against a rod or such) I'm curious about something.

I don't recall, and haven't been writing down the names of the items as I go. One was arguably not truly a wondrous item (though it had craft wondrous item as a pre-req); the other was a straight wondrous item.
However, if I see another I will be sure to grab the details and PM them to you.
A friend voting also got a pairing of Wondrous Items on his first vote -- that seems to be a consistent bug.
I kind of want to see one or two, but I'm worried if I just put an open post here to everyone to PM me if they see one (a wondrous that is not from their first pair, and paired against an appropriate type of item), then I'll get 100 people all sending me the same one.
