software for making maps.

Apologies if this has already been asked but I am curious to know what software packages Paizo's art Team uses to make their wonderful maps?

I already assume that they use a healthy amount of refined talent.

I am pretty sure that most of them they use the industry standard graphic programs (By Adobe);

Photoshop
Illustrator
InDesign

Our maps are generally done by freelance cartographers, and that means they might use anything and everything. Certainly, though, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator would be the most common tools of the trade.

Interesting, Vic, would never have guessed that you freelanced that out with the uniformity of style.

Thanks for the info, though!

It does help that we try use the *same* freelancer for all of our Map Packs and Flip Mats (unless there's a really good reason not to). Jason Engle has been our go-to guy there for a while now. (His primary tool is Photoshop.)

Ah, indeed. And I expected that it was something like Photoshop. I was leaning towards that or Illustrator.
