I had the great fortune to see this man play twice. The first time was in 1990 and he put on a hell of a show at a small venue (100+ folks). The second time was in 2008 in a larger venue (several thousand+ folks). He had to stay seated through his performance, but he still made that guitar sing.
You will be missed.
I also got to see him play, when he was playing with Leon Russell. He was one of the great guitarists of all time. He was still in his prime when I saw him. R.I.P. Johnny Winter, You will be missed, but will live on in your music forever.
