Although, dare I say that people do not like them because they are OP but because of their flavor, and they would probably accept nerfs to make them a balanced race.

Just gonna leave it at this:

Werewolves are not a balanced race in Golarion. They are not supposed to be a balanced race in Golarion.

how u kno they aren't even in da gm yet...

I support the adding of flavor races, as I said, somehow debuffed, because it adds flavor to the game. More flavor is good.

I stand by what I said, people would still play werewolves/vampires if they were balanced against regular PCs. They could even be terewolves or whatever, some pseudo-race that is similar.

There's no way to take something that is imbalanced and put it in the game "with caveats" because it would ruin the game.

I fully understand that this has about .1% chance of ever making it into the game. I'm just saying that I feel ideas like this are huge pluses and will help bring the game to more people.

Okay, I know this is a joke, but I dun get it. >.> <.<

Here's my slightly more in-depth view of this dead horse argument:
It's a cool idea. Really, I don't necessarily dislike it, if it can be worked in right. And I bet it could with enough balanced editing.

But think about it like this—earlier, Goblinworks said they probably wouldn't do stuff like "custom druid settlements". Why? Because they didn't want to dedicate extra time to any one class.

Werewolves as currently discussed wouldn't be like a race. They'd be closer to a class. You're proposing adding another class to the game—one with complicated models and a difficult-to-exploit system of abilities. It is arguably much harder to create than a simple "role".

So the question becomes, "Will enough people use this to justify the huge sidetrek that has nothing inherently to do with PvP, the Emerald Spire, the economy, or escalations?" PFO already has a lot going on. Werewolves...it's just so far off the beaten path that I doubt the goblins' beady red eyes can even make it out.

well it was kind of a stupid joke inthat it was meant to say this game does not equal PF TT and there's no reason why they couldn't balance it if they put it in the game.

I'm with you in that... they won't. However, they should. They should be doing things like this because that may give their game something other games don't have. If it's skins, that shouldn't be a big deal. If it's balance, again... shouldn't be a huge deal. Especially once they create a core balance and can run it against that.

But yeah, they won't. These threads make me sad for players because I see their excitement and I remember... they won't.

Just one final word.

There's been some really interesting player initiatives in PFO already to mention:-

* The Nihimonicon
* Nightdrifter's combat maths
* Harad Navar/Duffy Maps and political maps
* The Gobbo Cast team's podcasts
* Various alpha streamers
* I'm sure there's a good few more provided various resources I forget atm.

So anyway, just to say thanks to all for these. And may my own initiative strive to such heights also or fall off a high cliff in the attempt!
