I am just staring another game group and wanted to run a one shot using Pathfinder to gauge interests before we commit to location in Golarion, type of campaign, etc.
Group wanted to start off with 6th level characters so that they'd have a better feel for things rather than 1st level. These would be throw away since we'd start off at 1st level once we decided on a campaign.
Any tips would be appreciated. Some of the group is interested in running Kingmaker, so is there any PFS scenario or Module that might be a great lead in for that AP? I did some checking and only found a couple of early Season scenarios located in the River Kingdoms.
Thanks for the help!

For River Kingdoms, you could do "You have what you hold" from season 5.
But I might add, for the purpose of choosing a campaign based on regional background, I suppose it's better to just read about the regions the available APs are based in. Running a "test adventure" will only tell you if you like one particular region or not. So if you run a River Kingdoms based scenario and the players decide they don't like that region, you'll have to start over with the next possible region.
In addition to the region, the overall topic of the AP is important to make a decision. Many feature heroic world-saving, with different topics focused on (ancient history of Varisia for Rise of the Runelords, undead-killing for Carrion Crown, war against demons for Wrath of the Rightous...). For Kingmaker, it's sandbox-style exploration and world-building.

If folks aren't wanting the Kingmaker experience, my other thought is to run Rise of the Runelords (Anniversary Edition). If that were the case, what suggestion for a PFS scenario might you have?
Season 4, the Year of the Risen Rune, featured Varisia and Runelord lore strongly. Again it depends what your players like: edit: from early in the season, for 6th level, The Golemworks Incident is a romp through Magnimar

Rise of the Runelords is an awesome AP. One nice thing about it over the other APs is that the six different "books" within are loosely connected to an overall story arc, but not so much that you are facing the same thing over and over again.
