I recently joined the PFS at the latest con here in Ottawa (I was able to attend CanGames for the first time) and I'd like to know if there is a running bunch of GMs/players here for me to be able to continue playing within this campaign setting. Sadly, I live on a very low pension and don't have the ability/finances to get out to other cons in other cities... I only have this local area in which to play.
While I've been a gamer of D&D/AD&D since I was 8 (I received the Red Box Set as a birthday gift - and still have the originals from it too), I'm rather new to the PF system and would love to experience more, even if it's just free onlineplay (if folks still do this sort of gaming). I do occasionally play regular PF style games with my son and a few of his friends, but even these games are few & far between... I'd like to get more involved, playing more often.
Any help here (such as links, good advise, names/places, etc) would be very much appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi, Ilmryn,
At the moment, there is no weekly play in Ottawa, though there are regular Game Days. We do have a specific forum for discussion about games in Ottawa on the Ontario Pathfinder Society website, and that's where a lot of the games happen.
Ottawa does have a Venture-Captain, it's Glen Shackleton, and you can reach him by email at glen@ontariopathfinders.com.
I know there have been a few people asking recently about regular play in Ottawa, but at the moment there is no one who is available on a regular basis reliably to coordinate with a store. If you're willing to take that job on (it's not that big a deal - and coordinating the game is not the same as GMing all the time), I'm sure that Glen would be able to help you get started.
Hope that helps!

Hi Jeff... thanks for the info :) Quick questions regarding stores: what exactly entails being a coordinator through a store? Would I have to buy the materials from the store to use in the games? I don't have a lot of money to spend (I'm on a very limited pension) so would be worried about spending a lot just for the ability to play/GM every week or so. Otherwise I'd love to help out. I will also email Glen and ask him about it too.
Thanks again!
