Ng the Hooded - Confused!!

Advice

Dark Archive

Ok, I'm playing in 3 Campaigns, of those 3 different games. there are 2 different Holy Symbols of NG, and 2 different favored animals.

Where do I find the info that is Official Pathfinder info?

To help clarify for others, since it took me a minute to figure out what you were asking - Ng is a deity, one of the Eldest. Ng the Hooded is a title. Anyway! The resource I use doesn't show him as having any particular holy symbol or favored animal. I didn't even know a Pathfinder source listed favored animals of deities.

Seems the DM or DMs just made up a symbol & animal that seemed to make sense based on their universe or Ng's portfolio & domains. You'd likely be best off simply asking that person what the animal & symbol are from. Not really any help here sorry, but top of the list bump!

Yeah, the favored animal thing is EXTREMELY periphery. Hardly anything uses it.

But I do know that Ng the Eldest tends to be associated with gauntlets a holy symbol/favored weapon... since his gloves are just about the only thing you can see of him. If anyone knows where I could find more, I would love the help since I was also kind of interested in the idea of making an inquisitor for him (shady, mysterious powers of the fey? There are all sorts of tropes you can use with that; heck, knowing nothing kinds of helps with a god of secrets...only kind of though)

PathfinderWiki doesn't have any more on him than the Inner Sea World Guide has. Some of the other Eldest (such as The Lantern King) got a little more of a write up in the last volume of Kingmaker, but maybe not Ng. (I can't verify that since I don't have the book.)

Animal Archives has "favored animals" for the core Golarion deities in the back cover. I don't know of any other resource that has favored animals for other deities.

So, his potential Holy Symbol could just be a Gauntleted hand, flipping the bird?

I tried doing a google search. I found something...likely the added stuff from the Kingmaker write-up (considering the source was a resource for someone's kingmaker game, it makes sense). Mostly, it just gave extra details on physical description (cloaked figure that is practically not there), where he stays (says it isn't his), and behavior (wandering, staring, and generally being mysterious).

I like the implication that he might be the collective will of the first world itself (and that this will is neutral is also particularly interesting with the stereotype that fey are all chaotic). If I was to make an inquisitor of him, I would ask the GM to make a list of random mystical nonsense (like the things that went into Gleipnir ribbon that bound Fenrir) for me to collect for undisclosed purposes. A clear purpose that seems to serve no purpose and calls back to the odd nature of classical fey folktales intrigues me.

But no BBT... his holy symbol is hand of the Devs flipping off all of us that are hungry for so much more about this.

Well, everything about him, is about how dang secretive he is, and how he loves secrets.

So, what's his favored animal? It's a secret.

What his holy symbol? It's a secret.

How does one properly worship him? It's a secret.

Well, again, that could be an advantage, since you could make your own stuff up. And you could legitimately say that your character comes from a cult that made this stuff up too since they were as confused as we are.

...if that is the way it goes, then maybe he is the will of a world of chaotic fey...

A)"Is that your holy symbol?! What the heck?"

B)"No, it represents my holy symbol."

A)"So, what does your real holy symbol look like?"

B)"It's a secret."

A)"Why would you need to keep that secret?"

B)"That too, is a secret."

A)"Is there anything that isn't a secret for you?"

B)"That's a secret."

A)"Dammit! How do I know you are not lying about all this?"

B)"That too, is a secret."

A)"AAAAAAAAGH!"
