Wow! Just looked online at the lineup. Great sets. Each day has people I want to see. Dropkick is a BLAST! So is Edward Sharpe ~~in a different vibe (but I think he and she broke up, so "Home" might not work as well now). Violent Femmes are amazing live! Thats all Ive seen out of those groups. Would love to see White Denim and Hold Steady and Alabama Shakes and Jenny Lewis and... and... and... :)
I had a sliver of a chance to see Portugal the Man in my hometown at a secret show, but I found out the night of and couldnt get it together to get there.
Are you camping at the site? Or maybe you live close by. If youre camping, look into rental of tents. The set-up and take-down time and cleaning of the site is so worth paying the rental.
The Rocklahoma and KansRocksAss fests, I just pick a day and go for one full day of music.

I have seen the femmes a ton of times always a good show. I am really looking forward to seeing cage the elephant for the first time. Ed sharp is pretty great. Modest mouse is awesome. I havent seen the'mats in many years. I saw the National about 6 months ago and the show was amazeballs. I saw Alabama shakes ina little bar here about 1.5 years ago. Really looking forward to seeing them again. Definetelly looking forward to this festival.

You been to the rock venue with Heaven/Hell/Purgatory stages in ATL? My friends been there a bunch of times and he says its one of the best venues EVER! Ive been to ATL twice, both for metal shows. Rammstein at the gigantor indoor arena and Maiden/Cooper at a cool little outdoor amphitheater with a covering over about the first 30 rows. Love that place.
I guess I dont know what 'mats means? The only thing I can think of is the rap group the Diplomats? But theyre not playing there.
When you saw Ed Sharpe, did it seem like it was total chaos during the show? They played whatever song and then stand around and try to decide the next one by committee....then someone from the crowd would yell out a title and theyd launch into that song...then stand around again. No momentum. And Ed kept adjusting his throat in a violent manner with his hands like a contortionist. It was bizarre and fun.

'mats means The Replacements. They were a pretty influencial band from minneapolis in the 80's. They are a big deal here in the twin cities.
I have never been to Atlanta so this is my first trip. I get one night to tear it up then most of my time will be at the festival. My hotel is less than a mile from the grounds.
I saw Ed sharpe with Dawes. Yeah show was pretty similar to what you describe. They did rock "home" right outta the place. Be interesting to see them in a venue like this.

Minneapolis?!?! You into the Doomtree collective? Love their stuff! They put on a whole weeks worth of shows around that town back to back to back. Ive seen Dessa and SIMS, want to see P.O.S. sometime before his kidneys give out. Atmosphere is from there too right?
...and his purple highness. Maybe Morris Day too.

Yeap, all good acts drunken. Atmosphere is a MPLS act too. Got a cool little bit of a story to tell y'all about Morris Day and the time. Take a look at this album cover I lived in the condo on the right side for about 5 years.
Linky for those who want to know what we are talking about.

Favoriting for living near where The Time took publicity stills.
Looking over the line-up, I think the only performer I've ever seen is Jason Isbell when he was with the Drive-By Truckers. Dude can shred.

Shaky was fantastic. The advertising was non-existent and completely unintrusive, a huge win. Pretty much one band finished and the next started right up playing. Some rain the first couple days, and a frying pan day with not a hint of shade to be found on sunday. Line up was incredible worth every penny.
Highlights:
Cage the Elephant
The Replacements
Charles Bradley
The national
Alabama Shakes
Mason Jennings
The Whigs
Cold war Kids
Surprise disapointment:
Spoon (no crowd presence, and no energy)
@Doodlebug if you have a chance to catch the 'mats you should do so. Their set was damn good.
