I hope to never be more than a message board noob. I dont really take pride in the "I have so much free time I spend it on line making meaningless comments to strangers" thing ;).
Move here, and have a real gaming life doom chicken.
As for the warplocks, I am thinking Skaven gunslingers. Oh, excuse me, copyright laws... ratmen gunslingers.

I love meaningless comments to strangers. Makes life funner.
BTW never go to this thread: >>HERE.<< It revels in meaningless. Plus lots of us paizonians use meaninglessness injectors to deal with messageboard stressors.
By the way, I avoid talking about politics here unless someone explicitly starts a thread dealing with the subject. Folks are busy enough already going at it over rules.

S what is 2nd e d&d the same as advanced d&d?
Anyway, the rolemaster stuff you sent me is all for the version after what I used to play. Fortunately I still have all 11 books from back then.
Looking through pathfinder crit cards, I think the only way to use them in terms of severity is to make into a chart. Even then, some stat rolls will negate some of the effects, so they are almost more like Harn type of crits in that they are more of a chance of specific injuries.

D&D 2E is when they brought in THACO.
AD&D denotes 1st edition D&D core books: monster manual, PH, and DMG. Dieties and Demigods. Fiend Folio.
For my part I only own a couple of 2E books, and some 2E Dark Sun stuff. All packed away somewhere. Never played, we were too busy with Champions. AD&D I played up until just before you and I met.
Now that I mention this, I think last time I talked to Marco... what--almost 20 years ago... he was playing 2E Dark Sun in Van.

I say just use the cards. I mean yah a bom has the same chance of scoring a crit, but you don't fight bums in PFRPG, you fight monsters that are matched to you by CR balance--so in the end it doesn't matter.
As always the deck is about adding fun, not about realism.

Reitif |

well, whether or not you get a crit will be related to your skill vs your opponent, so the chance of a bum getting a crit on you is not the same as someone more powerful. And of course you fight bums, you just fight more of them. I assum this is likely so in the modules, and in a game cmpletely devised y the gm, anything can and should happen as the players provide direction. If a group of 14th level characters want to go exterminate a bunch of low level goblins, hey why not... It does seem like the crit thing as a measure of how well your attack is based on skill could be very easy to include.

There is nothing realistic about any role playing game. PCs would all be cripples with chronic health problems after the first adventure.
Crit severities based on success level of attack are not about realism, it is fun. It make you more dangerous against weaker foes. And dangerous monster more feared. fun fun fun. Again, though, with the chance for a crit rule (threat I think they call it) this is kind of included. If you wanted to work on crit severity etc, you could just base it off of the second roll. I mean it depends what kind of players I end up with. Since they will be strangers, I dont think I will screw with too much at first anyway.

hey, where do I go to chhose a picture for my alias?
You go to 'My Account' on the upper right (user menu) then look at the section called "Messageboard Aliases" and you can assign an image to Reitif as well as create new aliases. New aliases are used for sock puppets and PCs in pbp games.
You can't import your own images. Everything on there is from stuff published by Paizo.

ok dude got the feed thing going, though I don't really see how it is much more convenient than coming here. Also, you cant enter anything off a feed, can you?
What do you think of the spell idea (points to cast instead of so many per day?). I mean for play by post more standard is better, but I intend on running a full campaign.

A feed is necessary. If you make a permanent link it will only take you to the page you linked. A feed link takes you to the MOST RECENT post.
Every 50 pages a thread starts a new page so every 50 posts a normal link will be taking you to the wrong page.

There is a spell point system for Pathfinder already. You find it yet?

All style commands have the same syntax: [open]words here, style applies to them[/open]
Except in this case above the word "open" is not a recognized style so the brackets and style command do not get applied (which makes the command disappear).
You have to have the square brackets.
Seriously. Do I have to become abusive with you? =D

SO this next sentence is a hyperlink to the D&D website. And an article about what they are doing with D&D next:
click on these words to go there
(so that's a hyperlink, the syntax is a little different)
