I have a subscription to the Game Mastery flip mats and map packs and by and large I like them. That said some of the flip mats I find I use over and over again and others I rarely use at all.
Specifically I find that flip mats that detail forest and wilderness environments get used all the time as do exterior urban areas. I want to see more of these.
Interior flip mats on the other hand get far less use unless they show a single large room type environment such as an Arena or Cathedral. Flip mats of buildings with multiple rooms get extremely limited use and Dungeon Flip Mats are almost exclusively pointless to me.
Whilst I'm not unhappy with what I'm getting I was just wondering whether anyone else would rather see more generic environment type flip mats and less of the complex multi room and dungeon ones?

Agreed. I would also like the maps to show the trunks of trees instead of (or in addition to) the leafy canopy. While the leafy canopy looks great, its not as useful for combat.
As an example, the Woodlands map shows one huge dead tree trunk, but none of the trunks of the trees in the actual woods along the paths (you know, for use as cover).
I would even like to see a reprint of the Forest Map in the newer lighter colors (Like those of forest path, woodlands, swamp). Its a great "Go To" map, but its to dark to be generally useful.
Swamp is another great day-to-day map, and agree that it would make an excellent candidate for reprint.

Degoon Squad, I know it's not a full flip mat, but I bought the Farmstead Map Pack and am quite happy with it.
That being said, I do agree that more open area flip maps would be nice. If you have a campaign going, you only really get one shot to use something like a giant ancient temple, but if you've seen one forest, swamp, or crossroads, you've seen em all :)
Falls and Rapids looks like one I'm definitely going to have to pick up when it comes out.

Ancient forest map pack shows tree trucks( I think its one of the better packs)
And I do own the Farmstead, again I think it is one of the must have map packs imho.

I get a lot of use of the dungeon maps, personally. I generally "rekey" the module dungeon to suit the flip mat then cover it up with appropriately placed A5 post it notes to reveal as the party explores. I find it much quicker and more atmospheric.
That's probably personal taste, but for me it's all about speed. I don't feel the need to sketch out wilderness terrain, so can make do with fewer flip mats (I often just use one of the "blank" sides).

I agree the wilderness maps are more useful than the ones that are big buildings, but the big building ones also have their purpose -- I have sometimes needed a big house/castle or something and having them came in handy. The trouble is re-use. I think maps that show interior actually need to be less detailed -- so you can draw on furniture or details to help switch up things.
I also like it when they make map cards that are buildings, that you can then put onto a wilderness flip mat arranged as you like.

I would like the flipmats to be magnetic and the map packs stuff that you can then clip on there modular, so you can create your own dungeons and rooms and stuff.
Try something like this. I've used adhesive business card magnets on some of my map packs and a thin sheet of laminated steel under the flip-map to achieve the desired result.
Alternatively, a thin sheet of steel and a pack of rare earth magnets will lock the map tiles in place without having to permanently attach magnets to the map tiles.
