Thanks!
I can't join yours since I've already played Mists of the Mwangi. It was Danicka's first adventure. But I did sign up for some others!
| GM ShieldBug |
No worries, Forrest! That's why we're starting with the introductions, since sometimes the gameplay thread doesn't notify players when things have started. Anywho, I'll probably get to the briefing this evening (my time) so you may still have time to introduce yourself before we move on. ;)
That was the first game I ran, and I think it'll be perfect for the convention. I'll be signing up as soon as I figure out what character I'll be able to use.

Hey guys I am gonna be GMing Mists of Mwangi for OutPost if yall are interested. The excel sheet just went up.

Signed up for your table (with a different character)! Looking forward to it.

FYI, I'm traveling this week, so my posts may be more limited to once or twice per day. Especially tomorrow and a week from today, when I'll be flying.
I'll do my best to keep up. ;)

Arin didn't actually have 8gp, so I adjusted back one of his recent purchases so it would work out. He is now flat broke though :P
| GM ShieldBug |
Sorry about all the posts at once, folks! All the exposition is done now though, so posts should start getting back to normal. :)
Since the group is now split in two, it might be helpful if while y'all are infiltrating the camp to include a little OOC comment at the top of your posts to say where you are. Something along the lines of: Meanwhile back at the barracks..., or simply In the workshop would be awesome, and should help everyone keep track of what's happening where. :)

So... does Prickles the Thuvian desert dog appear on this chronicle sheet as a treasure I can buy?
| GM ShieldBug |
Hehe, I shouldn't really reveal chronicle information, but I'm afraid to say that there is no Prickles on the sheet. Would have been interesting, though! Quite a contrast between the meek Danicka and her ferocious pet Prickles. :)

I guess Brock will be visiting the quartermaster to see about some.hot weather clothes...
Danicka Raburnus

I wonder if you can buy animals as gear in PFS. It's never occurred to me before. I'm not big into animals, but Danicka would want to keep Prickles if it doesn't savage her before the end of this adventure and they both survive. I know you can buy mounts, but I don't know about guard dogs. Hmm. I might bother looking into that. Danicka's a softie.
Brock Swiftread
|
Take a level of hunter or druid or something, maybe some kind of familiar? Fox maybe?
| GM ShieldBug |
Buying animals is perfectly legal in PFS, they can be quite difficult to use in combat (using handle animal is a move action, and you need to train tricks in down time,) but if they are strictly pets and non-combatants, then things become a lot easier. A relevant FAQ can be found here.
Prickles is most like a riding dog. ;)
Danicka Raburnus
|
Yeah, if Prickles doesn't horribly maul me before the end of this adventure, she'd just pay for him and waste a few skill points on handle animal and be horrible at controlling him.
Brock Swiftread
|
Gonna go ahead and guess Danicka won't be using her chocolate to poison Prickles, or any of the dogs.
Just a guess
Danicka Raburnus
|
Yeah, no. Haha. And she'll shriek in despair when one of you does.
Brock Swiftread

I have the treats, wonder if our resident alchemist can somehow make a sleep potion we could mix them with.
One without adverse effects
Mhazruk Kruhl
|
I sadly won't be able to since making alchemical items take a week of work. Looks like its just enough chocolate to make them sick and not kill them, anyways...haha.
Also since I couldn't get onto the table for the OutPost Special (To Play) I joined your family game Meloriel with Dungeon Master S.
Danicka Raburnus
|
Cool! My kids are actually playing in two scenarios for OutPost. GM Shieldbug here is GMing one, and Dungeon Master S is running the other. My kids are SUPER excited.

Unfortunately for the poor Go-fers, the marquee still has a few people working inside, including Temeera. The ensuing chaos, as great swathes of canvas fall down on top of the softly spoken wizard...
I'm crying... so much better than I could have imagined.
Forrest Glavo
|
No more damage though. ;)
Gah, I was about to suggest we drop another one on him. Lol
| GM ShieldBug |
Ha! Well I guess if you're giving consent, I'm okay with the others 'accidently' dropping second device on you. A weird and rare case where cooperation means hurting your fellow PC. :)
Brock Swiftread
|
But its for the sake of comedy!
| GM ShieldBug |
I hope I'm not boring anyone with these great big walls of text. I can't wait for you to all join up again. :)
Brock Swiftread

Well, with my int of 8 and Yaiho's of 9 (smart guy, Yaiho) ... Danicka is gonna have to be our master forger.
Danicka Raburnus
|
On it! Let me know what skill you're planning on using today so she can make your letter related to that.
Brock Swiftread
|
Well, I lack any navigational related skills so I was kinda figuring on just Intimidating anyone who looked at me funny with my Cold Stare (TM).
Danicka Raburnus
|
@ Brock - Your paper gives you permission to perform a patrol and surprise inspection of the recruits in the area for the purposes of keeping an eye out for spies and traitors. Hopefully that is vague enough it works for later, and lets you use your intimidate.
Mhazruk Kruhl
|
No, these posts are great. It helps bring it alive and I am laughing quite often.
Danicka Raburnus
|
Agreed. I think you're handling them really well!
Yaiho Crasher
|
I like them also.
Arin Qualnoh
|
Ditto. I'm finding it challenging to keep the entertainment bar high in my posts :P
Forrest Glavo
|
Oh, these posts are great! Your narrative is quite impressive. And funny!
| GM ShieldBug |
Thanks folks! That's quite a relief. :)
Just a heads up, I will be running a real live face to face game tomorrow and may not have much time to update. I haven't done one of these things live for so long, but I remembered the most important thing: snacks! Wish me luck. :)
Arin Qualnoh
|
The players aren't bringing the snacks?!?!

How dare you prioritize real life human beings over nameless, faceless avatsrs on the internet!?!?
Next thing you'll be saying friends and family (and jobs) are more important than random sttangers on the internet! :P
Forrest Glavo
|
Hey, by the end of this campaign, (Several years from now?) this group will be friends and family!
Good luck with the game! Next time make the players bring the snacks!
| GM ShieldBug |
Well, the players may not have brought the snacks this time, but they did treat me a nice dinner afterwards. :)
Brock Swiftread
|
Well that sure beats a poke in the eye with a sharp stick!
| GM ShieldBug |
It sure does! :)
Don't worry Rook, I haven't forgotten about you. I just need all the job rolls before moving yours along. ;)

FYI, I will be away from computers for most of the day Saturday (US/Pacific time). Will be able to catch up late that evening.
Danicka Raburnus
|
Sorry for the wall of text in the gameplay thread, guys. Danicka (and I) needed to sort it out in order to make sense of things. Haha. Let me know if I misunderstood anything.
Brock Swiftread
|
Liked it, was gonna do that woth Brock then remembered his int is 8.
All that putting stuff together is above his head I'm sad to say.
| GM ShieldBug |
Hehe, no worries Danicka, it was a great post! There's a lot of information to go through (y'all pretty much nailed the reconnaissance) so a large post was inevitable if you wanted to sort through it properly. :)
I'll let you folks plan out things a little longer, go shopping, and equip yourselves before we change gears and start the frantic action of the heist itself. Just one small thing to note is that the vents for disabling the trap are on the inside of the transport. ;)
Brock Swiftread
|
Ill need a sap or other way to incapacitate the mage, unless we put Yaiho as the mage guard, then he'd need it.
The horn of fog could be good to stop the transpo/get the guards to go check out our dancing lights.
Potions of invisibility might be handy to approach? Danicka can put some to sleep, right?
Maybe energy resistance scrolls/pots for out trapspringer?
Mhazruk Kruhl
|
I was thinking the same with Potions or Scrolls of Invisibility or Unseen Servants. Yes, definitely buying myself Potions of the proper Resistance for getting those traps disarmed.
Fire Ward Gel might work well.
