I would like to use my first replay credit to get a second GM chronicle. Is there anything special I need to do when reporting the session online? Just fill in a different character number than the one I used the first time?
And if I GM for no credit, I should still fill in my GM number without the character suffix?

You need not do anything special for the online report. Paizo will flag you for playing something twice, but ignore it.

The Cert:
When replaying a scenario with GM-star credit, the GM completing the Chronicle sheet will annotate the Notes section of the Chronicle sheet and add “GM Star Replay Credit × Star” to annotate the use of star credit replay. The GM Star Replay Credits are a once per star, lifetime benefit.
No character may ever have two of the same Chronicle sheet—a given Chronicle sheet must be applied to a different character each time it’s earned.

Correct; you give your player ID number and no character id suffix. The report will show up as number- (blank).
