So I've created a number of "real life, but with magic" threads. This is another. :-)
So lets say you in real life, as you are now, suddenly get large amounts of magic. Use whatever specifics you want, but archmages are the standard usually.
I think I would maintain a mundane persona as to protect those around me. I would of course, use any number of tricks to disguise myself and go do fantastic things.
Would you keep up mundane appearances or would you not bother? Why or why not? Also, how would you go about it?

Yes and no. One of the first things I'd do if I had that kind of magical capability would be to go "off grid", at least partially. Quit my job, move away from the city - probably well out into the back country of either Tennessee or Georgia - and get away from people for the most part except via internet. I'd probably use most of my magical ability for keeping myself alive: providing myself food (probably by magically aiding food production, rather than magically conjuring food out of nowhere - knowing my luck, 'conjured' food would be stolen from someone else or something), money (transmuting stuff into gems or precious metals, and selling them sparsely - not quickly enough to saturate the market, of course, and in small pieces), and comforts. I would avoid showing off my abilities and use shapechanging/illusions frequently.

I think i'd build a secret lair far beneath my house accessible only via magic or probably just a pocket dimension. That way I could spend a lot of time "at home," as to prevent people from wondering where I am. I'll probably even have a permanent twine double to put in the house when I magically leave. Just in case someone is ever spying on me.
Then I would use magic to be my ultimate, but mundane self. Getting money; There's 101 ways to do that. I would most likely use divination or something to get winning lottery numbers or something. In other words something that minimizes suspicion about why i'm suddenly and inexplicably wealthy. Then something to make myself immortal, of course. I would want to appear to age and eventually appear to die.
On the other hand I'd want to have my other persona be extraordinary, but appear non-magic. I haven't decided entirely what I'd do with this other identity, but something to make the world better in a big way.

Nah ... if I got tapped into the ley lines and ended up with super uber magic ability, I probably would not make any changes to my appearances.
Figure, if you can create money or valuable goods from nothing, if the government gets curious, you could wipe all information about you (or plant mundane info) into the minds of those who come inquiring. Invasive? Sure, but if they ever did figure out what you could do, you would not be long for this world, so lesser of two evils/self preservation/etc.
As far as money goes, if you can just create item X from thin air, your need for actual money would be minimal. Pay taxes, insurance, services (water, cable, phone, etc.) and that's pretty much it, aside from those times you want to experience something you didn't just make out of thin air.
You could just teleport from point A to point B so travel would be a breeze. Not having a stamp in your passport could be an issue if you go to another country that way, but I'm sure there are ways around that.
A pocket dimension would be cool to play around in to see what you could do on the creation front without having it impact the real world.

I would use charm and dominate magics strategically to build up a power and influence web to insure that nobody of import to me would be in any danger. I'd use utility spells to repair and reinforce my home. Extradimensional space up the place, and set up wards, contingencies, and other defenses. I'd learn to create enchanted clothing and jewelry, and do so for myself and those closest to me. If possible, I'd try to develop spells to repair congenital defects, and heal chronic conditions/ terminal illnesses. Maybe volunteer as a candy striper (my phone wanted to add an extra p). Those still exist, right?
I'd still keep the job I have now though. It's good to have something normal and grounding to do.
