Late Backers Opportunity?

Pathfinder Online

Curious to know if any word or an ETA on when we might get some word of late backers for early enrollment access. A few months ago it was hinted that around this time or coming up soon we would get some word on this.

I assume that Milestone 3 in Oct I believe is when some more details will be given (if any). Wanted to see if could be any confirmation (or reconfirmation) that this info will be "soon" or that there will be an opportunity for people like me who didn't really read or research PFO until after the fact and are SOL to back the game.

Out of curiosity, what backing does PFO have? The Kickstarter amount seemed very low for an MMORPG funding and wonder if there are behind the scenes financial supporters.

The last said I believe was in the thread: Changes to Fulfillment System

I imagine they'd want to open it in conjunction as you anticipate sometime alongside Milestone 3 to pitch it better for new peeps.

In terms of external investment: From the kickstarter FAQ:

Is the whole budget coming from this Kickstarter?

No. Most of the budget is being provided by our initial investors, but the money we're raising on Kickstarter is the difference between a 4 year development plan and a much faster, much larger plan.

Barring unforeseeable future complications we do not expect to have to raise additional funds or do additional Kickstarter projects after the successful completion of this project.

The budget is probably between 5-10m iirc from previous statements. The 1m from the kickstarter I think is upfront cash that allows hiring of more devs to do work sooner for the aims of "better, faster, bigger" ie

Early Enrollment brought forward by about 12 months = MVP (Minimum Viable Product): See blog: Big Things Have Small Beginnings

When Lisa, Mark, and I were first working on the plan for Pathfinder Online, we started with a pretty standard plan for a MMO: a budget of $50–$75 million, 5 years of development work, and a team of several dozen people. After talking about the scope of that project, Lisa challenged us with the question that became the backbone of the final plan: What is the smallest game you can build, in the shortest amount of time, with the smallest full-time staff and the lowest budget?

Bump! I was just going to post also...I am sure they are working on the Fulfillment system, as when they do, new money flows in. And Ryan and Lisa seem the types that like it when new money flows in...

(That's a good thing, in case anyone was wondering...)
