Checks that the character can't beat

Pathfinder Adventure Card Game General Discussion

Hi All,

So here's the scenario:

Playing Veleros and I encounter Trapped Passageway. The check is 9 on a Wisdom,Perception,Dex,Acrobatics. Veleros highest skill for this check is Dex and it a 1d8 and I have no blessings to help. So is that an auto fail and Veleros takes damage?

Thanks for any help

Yes, I assume it is because he can't beat the specified check.

But I suspect another party member could play a blessing for you, making it possible to pass.

Yes, someone can help with the check if they can such as a blessing or another card. But on his own, valeros would not be able to beat it.

Wich suck because being a crumpy warrior in heavy armor we could expect him to have no trouble handling acrobatics ;)

I like when mechanism goes with immersion.

Just in case you were playing solo with Valeros:

Some cards are particularly difficult in solo play.... When you encounter such a card, remove it from the game and replace it with another card of the same type that roughly matches its power level but isn’t quite so impossible to overcome.

I'd suggest swapping in the barrier Ambush.

I agree. I also think this game has a lot of it, when the rules are being debated as debate points alone, I think a lot more of that comes to light.

EDIT: I am not referring to this thread but some others that have grown to a nauseous length of debate.
