You'd be right.

We have a pretty good mix of races in this coming up, but humans are the most represented.

I'd want to see one of the melee martial classes represented by a gnome or halfling, no preference on gender. (Sorry, OSW.)

I'd love to see an Ekujae elf in any of them.

A scary badass female halfling slayer would be awesome.

Edit: And Chiwetel Ejiofor or Idris Elba as the iconic swashbuckler.

YES.

I know she was only meant to be a one-shot and isn't a core race, but could The Powers That Be please, please, please consider making the tiefling cleric in the ARG (pg. 172)/Blood of Fiends (pg. 11) an (goodly-aligned) iconic? Investigator or Arcanist could be good fits, but any iconic slot would work.

YES.

(she also showed up in another piece of art in the inside-back cover of the Demon Hunter's Handbook!)

(she also seemed to be doing some investigation in that picture. hmmm....)

Prediction:

Sajan's sister, Sajni, showed up in artwork posted in a blog entry for Ultimate Campaign. Cool design, but unfortunately she didn't actually show up in that book.

Female pronouns are used in the Brawler entry of the playtest document.

Hmmm....

Could nothing. I'm hugging you through the computer screen as proxy. It is very warm.

If I done that I would be questioned as to my sanity by the 6 other gamers in a video chat with me.

Here are the new classes with the gender pronouns used in their entries. I'm also following them with my hope for a race, assuming that they stick with core races.

Bloodrager - Male - Gnome - There isn't a male gnome yet and raging gnomes are funny
Brawler - Female - Dwarf - No female dwarf and it feels thematic
Hunter - Female - Human - Why not
Investigator - Male - Human - I almost said elf, but Damiel is already a male elf. It's too close to home
Shaman - Female - Human (Mwangi) - Too good
Skald - Male - Human (Ulfen) - Maybe it's too obvious, but it's too perfect not to hope for
Slayer - Male - Human - 'Cause there's lots of humans
Swashbuckler - Female - Halfling - The swashbuckler just feels very halfling to me
Warpriest - Male - Half-Orc - There isn't a male half-orc yet

Poor Balazar... maybe a Meet the Iconics entry would help this lonely, forgotten summoner Paizo. *hint*

Humanoid races are boring. If I wanted to be a humanoid, I'd just go outside.

Because special snowflakes are hard to make mini's for. Plus can you see the Gelantinous Cube Sorc gliding into the shop bargain for supplies and turn out well? Iconics are Iconic for their easy recognition.

Seeing as how this is a book for Hybrid Classes I say it should have Hybrid Race Iconics. C'mon Half-Elves, Half-Orcs, and Planetouched pretty, pretty please.

I could rebuild my dhampir Oracle/witch for Wayfinder #9 as a shaman? Mmmh... Don't know.

I actually really like the idea of Sajni as the Brawler since it's supposed to be a more Offensive counterpart to the Monk. Then we just need her to go Champion Mythic Path!

The investigator had better have some combination of a monocle, mustaches, and sword cane.

Any thoughts on the hunter's animal companion or the warpriest's deity? I have no idea about the animal, but as for warpriest, I'm expecting them to showcase a deity that can't get paladins. Gorum seems a bit too obvious, though it would go well with a half-orc. Cayden Cailean would use a rapier, which is what I assume the swashbuckler will also have, so that's probably out. Possibly Desna? A male, dual starknife-wielding warrior decked out in full plate with a purple butterfly on his chest is all kinds of awesome.

I know it won't happen, but I'm keen on a kitsune or nagaji. But I'm cool with dwarves (male or female) and gnomes.

I'd also like to throw in for that bird-like aasimar from Blood of Angels...that would be lovely as well! Perhaps as a swashbuckler or slayer!

Silver Crusade

Goblin. Skald.

I see a Half-Orc Warpriest of Gorum incoming. Probably won't go with Ragathiel, as much as I want them to. I'd love to see armor similar to Seelah with Red wings all over!

When I hear Iconic, I hear characters that make sense to invoke the class. Gnome Druid, Elf Rogue, and Halfling Bard. They have broken that a few times with the Dwarf Ranger and Female Barbarian though...

I do want an Ulfen! Maybe a Linnorn-Blooded Bloodrager :3

Since it is going to be a generic book and not Golarion specific can you make the distinction between the different humans?

Why wouldn't they be able to? The iconics may appear in Core books, but they are Golarion characters. Seelah's Garundi, Kyra's Kelish, Amiri's Kellid.

Which makes the notion that Iconics can't be Golarion-specific (non-human) races, like Gillmen or Androids or Suli, let alone Bestiary races like Aasimar or Tengu, kind of suspect.

Anywho, definitely would like to see an Ulfen or Mwangi or Osirioni (in traditional faux-Egyptian dress) iconic.

Wouldn't "bodyguard" and "O.S.I. agent" be better represented as a brawler archetype and PrC, respectively? :) {ducks}

Maybe, but a SPHYNX agent totally screams base class.

I agree with some of the earlier commenters. I want to see at least one iconic for every race/gender combination from the CRB. So we still need a female dwarf, female halfling, and male half-orc. Especially the female dwarf! They are sooo underrepresented in art, minitures, pawns, NPCs, etc. The rest can be different human ethnicities. Some male healers would be nice for a change too.

You know, with Tengu, Aasimar, and Tiefling now PFS legal, it might be nice to get iconics from those races.

Iconic Brawler!

Are there any other races that PFS legal other those three MMCJawa?

Would love Sajini as the iconic brawler.

Suspecting the half-orc assassin image will be recycled for slayer. Somewhat like how Seltyiel was repurposed from Eldritch Knight.

Ray Lewis is my iconic bloodrager. Terry Crews is my iconic Skald. Isaiah Mustafa is my iconic Swashbuckler. This is, in fact, an update from my last set of designations, as the Skald had not been announced at last discussion.

Non-core-race versions of all the classes should appear in the next appropriate available adventure path.

Dragon 78,

I think those are the only noncore races that don't require a chronicle sheet, although I might be mistaken on Tengu.

I wonder if that is the monk's sister?

Paizo Employee Creative Director

Seltyiel's sister will not be an iconic. That's an interesting idea, but not one we wanted to go with.

I presume you mean Sajan's not Seltyiel's.

A question for JJ

will one of the human iconics be a Loli-Goth?

i have noted a major lack of one. it's an appealing fashion style based off victorian english nobility.

Description of Loligoth

it fits in fantasy quite well, and would work with with a petite framed and soft featured yet appearantly delicate and fragile female. i figured a 16-19 year old female disguising herself as a 10-14 year old apprentice as a means to exploit the chivalry of overly righteous gentlemen would make an excellent iconic. a cunning and artistic noble type could be a good explanation,

if her stat block has a rank in any single one of the following skills

Craft (Calligraphy/Painting)

Perform (Puppetry)

Profession (Detective)

or

Profession (Politician)

and at the same time

her personality is generally sweet and good natured, and her attire evokes the loli goth feel, i know what iconic i would play

Nope. That doesn't match the style of what we're going for with Pathfinder.

is a loligoth iconic to represent the interest of a handful of niche anime fans any more style breaking than the inclusion of firearms, alchemists, summmoners, monks, samurai, or ninja? all of which cater to similarly niche demographics that make up equal levels of composition?

we always cater to the fans of the samurai, ninja, and monk and we always cater to the guy whom wants to use a firearm? but is it too much to cater to the loligoth crowd, whom is just as niche as any of those crowds individually? all it takes is one female human loligoth iconic. that's all we loligoth fans ask for.
