As we come upon our heroes we find them surrounded on three sides a heavy sense of deja-vu filling the air. A large white wolf speaking to them telling them that he has been sent by Queen Nazhena to locate and return the heads of the party that sacked the Pale Tower and killed her apprentice Radosek. To the North several armored archers stand controlling a falcon each.... A still silence fills the air and then all hell breaks loose, the falcons attacking Shinigami and Thorsen but they are quickly dispatched by two well placed burning hands (finally burning hands does something).

The large imposing white winter wolf attacks Fafnir and Ignacio, heavily damaging them with his cone of cold. The party separated single out their targets, Fafnir going down an Ignacio getting low on health after several archer strikes and winter wolf attacks. Seeing the danger Ignacio is in Shinigami changes his target to the Winter Wolf and several magic missiles later the Wolf finally collapses. This leaves just the few archers left and prompting the party to revive Fafnir and attack the archers dispatching them with some ease... Nadya once revived notices something special about the Winter Wolf and informs the party that its pelt is quite valuable, the party expertly skin the beast and claim the Rim-pelt.

Nadya is revived and informs the party that they are about half a day outside of Whitethrone and the Fishcamp that she believes her husbands uncle lives in and that he being a smuggler might be able to find a way of getting them into Whitethrone. After a good night rest the party break camp just out of view of the Fishcamp and head on in, their first encounter with a local doesnt go exactly to plan and he runs away wary of the strangers.... Their second encounter is far more enlightening, a slightly inebriated dwarf is sat in an alley enjoying a bottle of something. The party approach him and have a quite jovial conversation with him during which time they discover that Ringir, the person they are looking for may have had a disagreement with a local "tax collector" of sorts called Marcian. The Dwarf leaves with a drunken flush in his cheeks and a heavy coin purse whistling away to himself rather unsteadily.

The party begin to approach a large fire pit in the middle of the Fishcamp when they spot a altercation going on between several "shoddily armored" guards and an old man whom it appears owes them some kind of tax money... Angered at the way this man is being treated Fafnir approached the group insisting that he is the mans grandson and demanding to know how much is owed... The "guards" make some insane claim about the value of the taxes and this quickly breaks out into a battle, Ignacio quickly sends the captain of the "guards" running away crying leaving behind himself a little trail of urine. The rest of the guards are quickly dispatched by Fafnir and Ignacio one running into the sea and drowning, never to be seen or heard of again.

The old man recovers and begins hailing the party as saviors and angels, proclaiming them to be gods, walking away he is heard to be calling, "All hail Fafnir" and thus the cult of Fafnir was founded, millions will later claim that they were there on this day but very few actually were....

Going on information that the "priest of the cult of Fafnir" gave to them the party approach a rough looking dwelling with boarded up windows and a makeshift "guardhouse" sign hanging over the doorway, Ignacio knocks and demands an audience with Marcian, noises can be heard from inside and two large ogres can be seen walking nearby. When the door to the "guardhouse" opens a rather harassed guy stands there proclaiming he knows nothing of this Ringir. Ignacio looks shocked for a moment when he spots an individual fitting the description tied up under the bed (S & M maybe, hey I am not going to judge, each to their own). When Ignacio finally gets the courage to call Marcian on this a battle ensues. Thorsen quickly tangling the two Ogres and incapacitating them whilst Ignacio goes after Marcian, after a drawn out and bloody battle, Ignacio kills the two ogres and Shinigami offended at being called a "wizard" destroys Marcian. After the party loot the "Guardhouse" they free and reunite Ringir and Nadya and retire to Ringirs house to plan their next move.

A plan of action is quickly decided upon, a toast is given to their fallen comrade Gundar as the party lose another traveling companion as Nadya leaves with everyones well wishes to be with her children. Ringir promises to help them get into the city and suggests that they enter via The Howlings as it is the least guarded and he suggests that they go in under the guise of delivering fish to the starving poor in the Howlings, further he informs them that he has several contacts, one of which might be able to help Thorsen and Fafnir with their afflictions and another that might be able to get them documentation to get them access to Whitethrone itself. Upon hearing about the parties desire to gain access to the "Dancing Hut" he tells them about the situation in Whitethrone at the moment and offers the possible services of a group called "The Heralds of Summers Return" who may be able to help them in their quest.

The next morning the party rise early and storing away all of their armor and weapons under Ringirs suggestion they head towards the Howlings entrance under the guise of fish transporters. At the gate a stunningly beautiful white haired woman approaches them and requests they submit themselves to a search and tell her what their business is in the Howlings. This check goes by without any problems then she approaches Shinigami who (in his single dumbest idea ever, and there have been alot of them is wearing the Rimpelt). She proceeds to introduce herself in a very provocative manner as Greta mention that "it is mating season" and inquire as to whether Shinigami would like "a cup of tea later.." After an awkward silence Shinigami tries to smile slightly flirtatiously (dont judge she is really stunning looking) and offer that if his current assignment finishes early enough it would be his pleasure to spend the evening having tea with such a beautiful companion, causing her to blush and with a smile on her face wave them through....

Once inside the Howlings the party rearm themselves with their easily concealable weapons and delve deeper into the area... They are accosted by a small group of goblins calling themselves "The Back Alley Boys", who demand "Fishes..." The leader attacks quickly using some bombs damaging several members of the party and ultimately knocking out Ringir. Shinigami still in two minds and slightly distracted by the appealing offer from Greta takes a few moments to come to his senses and tries to get the group to submit to him using his new found sense of confidence (See my intimidation checks did have a storytelling purpose ha)... Realising quickly that this is futile the party attack the Goblins and "The Cult of Fafnir" gains a new tale of the Goblin Slayer as he cuts his way through Goblins one after another... The bodies are quickly looted and hidden away from prying eyes. It is then that Ringir spots and points out to the party their is a Mirror Man doing his rounds... The party quickly hide the cart and themselves managing to evade the Mirror Man patrol then Ringir delivers the fish to his contact in the Howlings.

And there we leave our heroes Fafnir with his new found cult, Thorsen, Ignacio wishing he had taken the Rimpelt and Shinigami with a potentially life changing choice to make.....

This week we find the heroes standing outside of the hut they delivered the fish to at the end of last session, when a stranger approaches ridding on what appears to be a large snow leopard.... Ringir looks over at him appearing to recognise him and introduces him as Florizel a member of the Heralds of Summers Return. he dismounted and introduced his Snow Leopard as Blondie. The party felt a sense of kinship with the newcomer and for some reason it felt right for him to be a part of their small tightly knit group.

Ringir waited until all of the introductions were made, a special connection appeared between the newcomer and Fafnir when they found that they were both from the Linorn Kingdom... Shinigami wondered to himself what they fed them there to grow them so small but put the thought to one side for the time being. Once they group quietened down for a moment Ringir informed them that they would need to now head over to his forger friend Mortin so that he could forge some papers in order that they could gain access to Whitethrone itself. The party agreed and began following Ringir towards his forger friends house... As you would expect though this journey did not go easily at all, their first obstacle came in the form of two cloaked figures, both in an obvious state of inebriation, Shinigami for a moment wondered if they old man, the priest of the cult of Fafnir had managed to get himself some followers already, but not life couldnt be that easy. The two strangers began hassling Ignacio demanding papers and insisting that he pay them five gold... Quickly this escalated and they two removed their cloaks revealing themselves to be Wolf-weres and they attacked, the party with their new found comrade made reasonably easy work of them, Fafnir quickly dispatching of one of them, the second fell soon afterwards... Looting the bodies the party found a number of gems and also a strange stone which on further inspection turned out to be a Steadfast Gut Stone.

From further North the party heard an argument going on and upon closer inspection spotted two very large ice trolls arguing with either each other of two smaller individuals, the group quickly grabbed the wolf-were bodies and carrying them around the back of a building hid them in a deep snow drift. Once they were sure that they had not been seen they came out of hiding and headed to the East towards Mortins. Finally a break you may think but no, as they rounded a corner a human in obvious fear of his life ran into them and collapsed saying that "his master" had gone crazy... Who was this master is a question that would be quickly answered when a huge Winter Wolf appeared, apparently chasing after the human. Upon seeing the group and in particular Shinigami in the Rimpelt he stopped and made a great deal out of saying "I am Korgin. This thing is part of my house, until he decided to question how I manage mine. Im sure you understand that Sometimes you just cant break their defiant streak..." Realising quickly that the creature thought he was one of his own Shinigami who felt that he needed to atone for all the death he had dealt out whilst in the Howlings stepped forward and with an eloquent speech attempted to imply that he was himself looking for a fun human to break and train himself and if Korgin wished he would take him off his hands... A price was set and agreed upon, the wolf leaving happy and the human pleased at being saved, had another surprise coming to him when Shinigami set him immediately free with a few silver in his pocket and Ringir telling him to go to the Fishcamp and begin a new life full of freedom there.

Just around the corner was Mortins abode, a small hut with boarded up windows and no real signs of life, Ringir knocked yet receive no reply, the party heard noises coming from inside and Ringir tried again, this time a small bald bespectacled man opened the door and after some back and forth allowed them in... He was a strange little man, who had a thing for silver having lost his wife to a werewolf some years before he had become a hermit, never leaving his house unless he simply had to. After much haggling a price of 3500 silver pieces was finally agreed upon for the travel documents, one would be for a honored guest for Shinigami and the others would be slave papers, Florizel who himself was a skilled linguist stayed with Mortin and assisted in the forging of the documents which took several house...

Finally several hours later the party approached the main through way between the Howlings and Whitethrone proper. The only thing stading in their way now was two mirror men who seemed to speak with some form of telepathy. They challenged Shinigami who according to the forged documents was the owner of the others to approach and attempted to un-nerve him, keeping calm he handled the mirror men with a relaxed air and after several agonising moments wondering if Mortin was as good as he said he was he was proven to be as the mirror men allowed the party access to Whitethrone.

Quickly upon arriving in Whitethrone Ringir led the party to a area called the Flows and to one particular bath-house there... A shrine was hidden underneath it and the party were taken to this shrine, once inside they found Solveig, the cleric of the shrine and member of the Heralds of the Summers Return infront of them... She began questioning them as to their reasons for being there and when it was finally revealed by Ignacio that they sought the Dancing Hut so they they could rid Whitethrone and the world of the Queens dictatorial reign Solveig softened towards the party, especially when Florizel spoke up regarding their character.

Over the next few hours the situation was laid out to the party and a plan put in place.... The party would invade the clock-tower and take out a white dragon (whose name I forgot) and then the Iron Guard who were friendly towards both the Heralds and Babba Yagga would attempt to attack the Ice Guard and at least create enough of a diversion for the party to be able to get into the market area where the Dancing Hut was on display as unmolested as possible. the party agreed but Shinigami also had a second request, two party members were suffering with cursed afflictions and a further deal was struck whereby they curses were removed and the party offered both financial compensation and also promised to do all that they could to find and return and young lady called Bella who was a captive in the clock-tower....

Late the next evening after a hectic day of buying and selling the party found themselves leaving the Shrine with several items Solveig gifted to them and heading out for the clock-tower. Upon arrival the tower stood tall in-front of them, four storeys high, they decided to approach by the courtyard, this turned out to be a mistake as when they set foot towards the front doors two statues came alive and attacked them... Florizel quickly dispatching of one of them but breaking his lance a the same time... The second also crumbled and it was found that both were using adamantine swords that the party happily took. The thought, "This is just too easy..." passed through several party members heads... Famous last words we think.... Entering the tower the party were assailed by the sounds of moving mechanisms, cogs and mechanical parts... Thorsen tried listening for sound at one of the doors but couldnt hear anything... Entering the room beyond the doorway a large troll and his huge hound spotted the party and the hound attacked, allowing the Trolls to run off and alert a large female troll of the attack... The party dispatch of the hound and Shinigami enters the room, firing some magic missiles at the troll he spots the female troll and warns the party. A hectic battle ensues during which Shinigami takes out the male troll whilst a Bugbear appears from the Northern room and is taken out by a combined effort of Thorsen, Florizel and Blondie both of which have proven themselves to be top notch fighters. Whilst the party fight with the female troll Shinigami heads into the room to the North after spotting some children in cells in the hopes of freeing them... The female trolls falls deal under the parties combined efforts and that is where we leave the heroes for this session....

Fafnir still trying to add to his ever lengthening list of miracles for his cult to worship, Ignacio now better armed and armored becoming the ass kicking meat shield that Shinigami has been calling him for weeks. Thorsen the brains of the operation, Florizel and Blondie the dynamic duo quickly becoming highly valued members of the party and Shinigami being how only the bipolar Shinigami can be, one moment killing a dozen people and the next randomly freeing a slave...

I don't know if Thorsen is the brains (with his intelligence of 10) but maybe the voice of reason? Nice read you are doing a great job with those. :D


Thanks, for 10 intelligence he has some really good ideas... As a draconic character my character is looking forward to the encounter with the Dragon, I do hope that we have the chance of some meaningful dialogue with it as it might give a little bit of information about my characters back-story as well as find out a little bit more about his and the dragons motivations etc. I dont think we will be able to get it to leave without a fight but it would be fun to, depending on our interaction with it have the encounter play out in a fun and different way, I have tried to balance between fighting and diplomacy/ intimidation but I think Pathfinder is more geared to straight up killing the enemies rather than having them see your side of things...

On a side-note Shinigami would love a dragon as a pet.. maybe we will even find some Dragon eggs in the clock-tower, I doubt it though ha.

Had Greta been Draconic in nature rather than Winter Wolf the date would have probably happened, but the wolf thing just put too many problems in the way.

Nice job on the write up.

Yes Pathfinder tends to focus on complete. The group has on numerous occasions earned experience by diplomacy. Sometime it pays not to engage in combat in certain situations.

For example you could have fought numerous times in the Howling. The two mirror men encounters, the winter wolf, the trolls, etc. If you had you might of survived of course, but you wouldn't have papers and it would've been much harder to obtain gear. Everything has its place.


Thanks, if I may say my write ups can only be as good as the DM running the game and the players playing in it so really it is nice job everyone as they give me the content I just put it in words.

Yeah I notice it tries to strike a nice balance, I think I just over-think situations sometimes, this is I think because of my limited number of spells I try to use them as sparingly in a day as possible ha.


We first find our heroes as they are finishing up the trolls and troll hound, burning them to ensure that they dont rise again to flank the heroes. Shortly after the fire burns out they begin searching around the area, in the room to the South they find a chest, once opened it has in it several potions as well as a few less savory items such as the occupants spare nose ring and a rather macabre collection of small childlike looking human skulls.

Searching through the main central room that they had first encountered the hound in the party find mainly broken and unusable items and weaponry, however two items do stand out, a nice suit of scale-mail and a rather nice looking longbow. This also has a secondary door leading from it to the West which is also checked and searched through by the party... the main item of interest found here is a hand haging fro a necklace that a quick check by Shinigami shows is a Hand of the Mage, which quickly finds its way around Shinigamis neck... Well how often have you wished that you had an extra hand...

Fiinally the party enter the Northern most room upon entering they find two young girls both in obvious states of distress and when Shinigami approaches they back away, whether it be from fear or something else is unclear... Florizel approaches them and after a brief interaction finds out their names are Samantha and Yennifer and they have been captives of the trolls for a while now...

Feeling a sense of compassion for the girls the party release them from their cells and tell them all about the Heralds of Summers Return and Florizel offers the girls a few coins before sending them on their way. The girls gratefully escape the tower and the party assume head off the the bathhouse... Shinigami at this moment has the idea of using the troll corpses to block the inward opening main doors to ensure that it would be as difficult as possible for any external guards or trolls to enter the tower and flank them.

The party now approach the door to the West of the main entrance hallway and Ignacio quietly opens it.... Inside this next area faint noises of snoring can be heard and a quick look shows the party that three large troll hounds are fast asleep, what do troll hounds even dream about Shinigami wonders to himself, playing fetch with entire baby saplings or maybe tearing the innards out of a large elk... Before anything can really either be said or done Thorsen fires a snowball at and Florizel and Blondie charage into the fray attacking the furthest most hound... Shinigami sends a ball of acid at the nearest hound and all cause damage. The sound of the attack and battle bring unpleasant sounds from the large double doors to the south of the room and they open... Two large trolls lumber out of them, one immediately going after Florizel and the other backing up the closest hound in attacking a now engaged in battle Ignacio. Florizel is effectively cornered and tries to back up taking damage as Ignacio suggests a retreat to the hallway in an attempt to create a choke point...

When Ignacio and Florizel finally do manage to separate themselves from their attackers and head back towards the door Thorsen in a moment of genius (Not back for a 10 int character) drops a perfectly placed fireball behind the encroaching trolls and hounds, badly damaging three of them and killing one of them outright. The party make reasonably short work of the now very badly damaged enemies and they quickly fall under a collection of blades and magic.

Whilst the rest of the party are assessing their condition Ignacio starts a search of the area, in one chest he finds hidden under a pile of troll underwear a intriguing sketchbook which makes his eyes grow to the size of saucers and jaw hit the floor, between the covers of the book are many and various provocative illustrations of several beautiful members of the Jadwiga ruling family in various states of undress and acts of coitus. Shinigami still curious quickly flicks through wondering if there are any that may contain Greta she was a beautiful young lady and who knows may

have caught the eye of one of these young ladies... Sighing he is frustrated as none of them do, guess he will never know what exactly he has missed. The party head upstairs after completing their healing and ensuring that everyone is ready for the next encounter they may have. Once upstairs they find themselves in a long corridor and enter the Eastern door. Once inside, from the North Thorsen heard a small girls voice crying and mentions this to the party. Immediately Farnir opens door and they were approached by a small semi wraith life girl, obviously not human she has a long dead animals skull where her head should be. Shinigami holds off on his action wondering if the creature will make an aggressive move. It does approach the party still crying and combat begins... Whilst the main force of the party is engaged with the undead girl Shinigami from the corner of his eyes notices through the open door of the room a door on the other side of the corridor open. A voice is then heard from Granny Nan asking what was happening asking if the trolls had brought the girls from downstairs yet, however upon seeing what was happening she insisted that the party leave her young girl alone. Shinigami informed the party of this.

The undead girl fell and the party moved in to attack Granny Nan who had moved out of sight. Thorsen ran in the room first and found himself face to face with a large construct in the shape of a stove type cauldron which attacked him as Granny Nan cast spells from the corner of the room. The construct appeared to not take any damage from the various melee attacks except for Florizel who used the adamatine longsword and then Shinigami wracked his brain to try and find if he knew anything about this creature... He did as it turned out and was able to tell the party that its main weakness was cold which caused a shift in fighting style... Florizel was grabbed and engulfed by the construct as it appeared to swallow him whole into its large mouth shaped opening. A combined effort of both Thorsens cold spells and Ignacios attacks destroyed the construct and Florizel emerges slightly singed and the worse for wear... The party then switch their attacks Granny Nan and several minutes later she falls to the floor dead.

Collecting themselves the party search the area in the small area where the undead child where they find amongst a collection of childrens books one titled The Labyrinth and decide to keep it handing it to their book-keeper Ignacio, a second inanimate cauldron is found in the main room
where Granny Nan was. Off to the side they find a bathroom and a storage room the party make use of the facilities and then decide to move onwards and upwards. Going upstairs to the next floor the party are assailed by the noise of the mechanisms making hearing anything outside of a very tight area almost impossible. This area is much smaller and obviously much nearer the top of the tower.

They enter a door on the East wall and this is where they encounter a beautiful young woman, approaching gently Shinigami engages her in conversation and quickly learns that this is the Bella that Solveig requested the group locate and attempted to return back to the Heralds. it is also revealed that this woman is in fact the lover and partner of Solveig which to some degree explains why Solveig was willing to offer them the level of help she did simply for attempting to return her safely.

After a short conversation she agrees to wait there for the party after they inform her that they are going after the Dragon who she confirm is on the top floor.They go up to the actual frozen clock tower, ice covers the ground and a large pile of gold and gems are seen over to one side. The party having prepared themselves before entering the topmost floor spread out and begin looking around the area. The tower shakes and the white Dragon Logrivich appears, he is a medium sized white Dragon and asks the party how they dare to encroach upon his lair and breathes cold at the group hitting a number of them and inflicting cold damage. Fight ensues. Thorsen uses Sphere of fire, Shinigami fails with several Scorching Rays. Florizel and Ignacio and Fafnir fight the dragon close up.The dragon is hit by attack after attack and Burning Hands until he dies from a collective effort of fire and blades.

They fire off the firework as signal and the rebellion begins, numerous other fireworks setting off around Whitethrone. The sounds of steel and other metals clashing rising above the city.

After searching the large pile of chocolate gold (in pathfinder chocolate is actually rarer than diamond and therefore actually more valuable) the party walked down to the lower floor and met back up with Bella, informing her what happened to the Dragon she follows them back to the bathhouse and the Heralds of Summers Return safe-house. Bella and Solveig have an emotional reunion and Solveig goes on to explain the current situation in Whitethrone and that the Heralds and Iron Guard would do all they could to hold them back until the party were ready to attempt too get into the Marketplace and ultimately to the Dancing Hut.

The party decide to rest up and head off towards the Marketplace and their contact. Once they meet up with him they are appraised of the situation and head off towards the entrance to the Marketplace. Once they arrive there they are confronted by a huge troll who the party immediately begin to attack not even a few seconds after he asks for papers. A short time into the battle a large humanoid giant appears behind the barrier and climbs over it standing on top and casts a large area frost spell knocking half of the party down... They quickly get back up and after a flurry of blows the trolls falls leaving just the humanoid Giant, one well placed Scorching Ray and several of Thorsens fire spells later the Giant was weakened and a flurry of blade blows later the Giant fell and the party headed into the market.

This is where we leave the heroes for this session , Fafnir wondering if the Heralds of Summers Return will allow his newly founded cult a place in the new Whitethrone, Ignacio the damage dealing, troll killing meat shield, Shinigami who gets to act first and miss every shot or act last and hit everything... Thorsen the king of fireballs and finally Florizel and Blondie, the newest members of the group yet fast becoming one of the boys...

Will they get to the Dancing Hut, we will find out next session....

That's a cool weapon, but I can't see it being easy to touch someone with the weapon as they run in fear from combat. If no one else uses a shield I will equip it with that weapon until we get somewhere to sell things and I think I'm going to start wielding the great sword +1. It does make my AC crap. I would have 21 AC with the +1 shield and the morning star and 18 with the greatsword. HAHA, we took the children skulls? I'm not carrying those by the way.

We first find our heroes as they are finishing up the large humanoid giant and the troll that appeared and blocked their path to the entrance of the market district and the dancing huts current location. Climbing over the makeshift barrier the party enter into the market district, the sounds of battle slowly drifting off into the distance. Ignacio has a moments pause and is unable to ignore the cries of pain coming from the Iron Guard behind him and he informs the party that he is going to for the moment stay behind and assist the Iron Guard in holding off the Queens winter Guard and he will join them when he has satisfied his ethical mind. The party understand this and agree, Shinigami letting him know that they will try to get word to him when the market distract is clear before advancing to the Dancing Hut itself.

With Ignacio helping the Iron Guard the party one man down advance into the Market Distract, they are surrounded on three sides by trees, the cleric of the Heralds of Summers Return was not wrong, the trees had grown tall and strong and definitely appeared to be un-natural and magical in appearance. As the party began its advance into the market district an eerie silence filled the area, this put the party on edge and they attempted to match this quiet and stillness being as stealthy as possible. Paths branched off in several directions in-front of them and Thorsen noted several fresh tracks heading off in one particular direction and some older ones heading off to the West. Slightly cautiously the party opted to investigate the area to the West. The pathway opened up into a large area, the sight that met them was weird to say the least, in the middle of a large pool of water stood a fey like creature with blazing burning red hair, it appeared to be lost in some kind of trance. Such has the parties adventures been thus far that this wasnt actually the weird thing, the weird thing was that surrounding the area where the fey was water appeared to be defying the natural laws and actually raining upwards towards the sky. From the Northern part of this area Fafnir noticed a large creature step into view, it also noticed him but strangely enough it didnt say a word and simply turned back and walked back to the North leaving the party curious and Shinigami internally noted that he would have to investigate that area later.

Trying to keep as much in cover as possible the party discussed their course of action, Florizel passed on some of his knowledge on this type of creature to the party and then taking the initiative stepped forward and attempted to engage it in conversation, the creature at first ignored him totally but then it turned and looked at him, telling him, "Leave, do not interrupt me.. Leave this area you are not allowed passage.." No matter what Florizel tried the Fey would not let him passed and insisted that the party leave the area or she would have to make them leave..

The party decided to heed its warning for the moment and headed of to the East this time taking the pathway that headed to the North... Once the area opened up the party saw a strange large distortion and this appeared to be blocking their goal the Dancing Hut... Approaching the distortion the group investigate it, Shinigami recognised it as a Reality Siphon and informed the group of the knowledge he had of these un-natural phenomenon, quickly they realised that it must be the Fey they had encountered earlier that was creating this Siphon. Knowing that the only way to remove this siphon was to kill of its source of power, the three Fey they decided to investigate the area off to the East. Here the party encountered the second of this blazing haired female Fey, this one was stood on top of a large boulder as several other sizable boulders floated several feet above the ground around him. Unlike her ally to the South West this Fey haughtily and sarcastically engaged the
party verbally telling them that they had better leave the area immediately as they Fey were taking this reality as theirs.

The party quickly led by Thorsen and Farnir attacked the creature. In very quick succession the Fey made a large spiked pit appear under Thorsen who quickly disappeared down the pit landing with a thump and a screech of pain. Meanwhile a humanoid rock creature appeared next to Shinigami and Florizel who engaged it in combat. Fafnir found himself alone and trapped on the wrong side of the spiked pit face to face with the Fey without his party for backup, this was to be a short lived thing though as quickly Thorsen appeared from the pit in the form of a medium sized owl and flew over to where Fafnir and the Fey were. The party split into two engaged both of their enemies in combat. Shinigami and Florizel taking out the humanoid rock taking little or no damage at all and once this creature fell Florizel and Blondie leaps across the pit to assist their friends in their combat with the Fey whilst Shinigami used his magical abilities to support from a distance. The Fey used several flute based magical attacks to quickly damage Thorsen and Farnir, actually taking both of them down to the ground knocking them unconscious only to have them revived by Florizel. Fafnir who was now in up and fighting found his reprieve short lived though as a second spiked pit appeared underneath him and he fell into this one impaling himself on the spikes below.

The dynamic of this battle seemed to go back and forth for a short while, until the pit holding back Shinigami left and he was able to enter the fray, stepping forward a flurry of magic missiles leaving his hands slammed into the Fey, the combined efforts of the party pushing the Fey back until she has to drop down from the rock and attempted to run for cover behind a second stone. The party quickly took advantage of this and gathering itself attacked the Fey, blow after blow landing until the creature fell under the final killing blow... Thorsen looking up at the last moment spotted the large boulder that had once been floating in the air come crashing down to the ground, hitting him a glancing blow but luckily missing crushing his head.

Taking a moment the heroes collected their thoughts and took a second to calm themselves before they headed off towards the North. Walking along a long tree lined pathway the party where initially unaware that two pairs of beady eyes watched them every step of the way, Fafnir and Floriel felt something and managed to spot two large flying creatures ad turned to warn the party a moment too late as Shinigami and Fafnir where quickly marked out by them and attacked, one of the creatures managed to back up Shinigami almost back to the previous area whilst the other three heroes worked on attacking the second creature felling it after several minutes of continuous blows. Thorsen and Shinigami has meanwhile been working on the first creature and after Shinigami strategically circled around a boulder leading it back towards the party it also fell down dead....

Collecting themselves the party kept pressing to the North and soon came upon a small wooden hut, upon closer inspection it appeared to be unoccupied and its windows were boarded up but Thorsen noted several footprints over a week old heading into the house and none leaving it. After several moments the door creaked open and the large head of a Winter Wolf looked out, spotting the party it emerged from the hut looking and attempting to act in a superior authoritarian manner it insisted that the group escort him back to the Winter Guard. Quickly Shinigami assessed the situation and using the fact he was still wearing the Rimpelt acted himself insisting on knowing what had brought the wolf here, demanding the wolves identification and also what intelligence he had to give on the current situation within the market district. the wolf named Bragda has apparently been stuck in the hut with his troops for the last few weeks since the forest had appeared... They had tried to escape several times yet had always been unsuccessful due to the Fey creatures that the heroes had encountered earlier. Bradga had in the end been forced to sate his hunger by ending the lives of his own troops, a sentiment that Shinigami pretended to understand being a Winter Wolf himself, "Survival is of course paramount..." Bradga then dared to question the way that Shinigami allowed his troops to talk to him which brought a quick, "I am not the one that lost my entire group am I? So please do no question my methods..." response from Shinigami.

After quickly investigating the hut and its contents the party agreed to escort the Winter Wolf to the exit of the market district and they then parted, with the party hoping it would mean the Winter Wolves quick demise. The party now had to decide what to do now and opted to head off to the West back towards where they had encountered the first Fey creature. this time with little or no conversation the party attacked, Florizel charging in as the Fey stepped back and created a humanoid creature from the mud surrounding the pool of water she was stood in. Fafnir and Florizel engaging this creature in battle, whilst Thorsen was battling a large orb of water that had appeared in-front of him and was in the process of trying to drown him.

After he finally managed to escape from its clutches the sight he came upon was of a battle hanging in the balance... The mud creature had damaged Florizel and Fafnir, whilst Shinigami was firing off magic missiles and a fireball at the Fey creature. Suddenly behind the mud creature Shinigami summoned an eagle which attacked and hit the creature but died quickly afterwards... The creature was to fall soon after and this marked a change in the flow of the battle.. The party quickly pressed home their advantage and the Fey eventually fell causing the water to all return to normal.

By now the party was both physically and mentally exhausted and it was suggested that they return back to the house in the far North East of the market district to set up camp and begin a secondary assault the next morning... Shinigami as they were walking up to the camp began to think up a strategy for what tomorrow might bring...

And this is where we leave our heroes for the time being, will they arrive at the Dancing Hut... What will the third Fey have in store for them and what will happen to the group during the evening, will it be uneventful, will Greta turn up again, how is Ignacio faring these and may other questions will be answered in the next session.

Description
Emberchill is a +1 frost sickle whose cruel blade is crafted entirely of magical ice. The weapon itself is immune to fire damage. It is believed that one of Irrisen’s past queens originally forged Emberchill, and over the succeeding centuries, tradition has kept the weapon in the hands of the White Witches, such as its current wielder, Nazhena Vasilliovna. A spellcaster can store a single spell of any level with the cold descriptor and a casting time of one standard action in Emberchill. The wielder can use the stored spell to counterspell any spell with the fire descriptor, provided that the stored cold spell is 1 or more levels higher than the target fire spell (unless the cold spell specifically counters the fire spell). The wielder must still ready an action and succeed at a Spellcraft check to identify the spell to counterspell it. Once stored in the weapon, the cold spell cannot be used for any other purpose, but the wielder can harmlessly discharge the stored spell as a swift action to make room for another spell. Abilities that grant the cold descriptor to spells, such as the frozen caress hex of the winter witch archetype, make those spells suitable for storing within Emberchill.

Anyone who strikes the wearer with an unarmed strike, a touch attack, or a natural weapon takes 1d6 points of cold damage. The wearer can activate or deactivate this ability as a free action.

As we rejoin the party from last session they were just relaxing down for the evening in the abandoned hut in the North East corner of the overgrown market district. Just as the group were settling down for the night a noise is heard outside and the approach of footsteps, the party ready themselves but it is just Ignacio returning from guarding the entrance where apparently a large winter wolf had left a short while before and mentioned the party describing where he had encountered them and this had led Ignacio to find the party. Back to full strength again the party went back to resting up for the evening.
Three hours later the party had just fallen to sleep with Thorsen on watch, unknown to the rest of the party Thorsens watch as interrupted by sounds of voices and laughter coming from the West, noticing this he headed back in to the hut and awoke the party. The party where awoken by Thorsen and he informed them of what he had heard from the West this met with a minor lack of interest from the party however Florizel sent his cat Blondie outside to keep watch with Thorsen and joined him. No sooner had the party began relaxing again and before they even feel asleep when voices could be heard from outside, an obviously drunken guy appeared from the West talking to Thorsen and Florizel he informed them that there was a party happening just to the West where him and a few friends were celebrating the end of the world. Florizel attempted to send the guy on his way but he became more and more insistent which drew another of his friends Jo Jo over, he was also drunk and the two by now where making quite a noise, making sleep impossible for the party which actually brought another individual to the party that was gathering outside of the hut. A beautiful looking young lady approached the group and sensually flirted with Thorsen attempting to get him to join them and party...
Thorsen unused to young ladies hitting on him found himself very enamoured and approached the woman, Florizel tried to stop Thorsen but for some reason Thorsen appeared to be unable to do anything other than wish to go with the woman. Florizel began to mutter a spell under his breath and his hands began moving... The woman snarled and began attacking the party members outside of the hut. The sounds of the battle as it began drew the attention of the party inside of the hut and they left the hut to engage the others. The battle drew along with Fafnir continuing and expanding his myth of his cult in knocking out one of the drunken fools as Ignacio decapitated one of the beautiful red headed women. From the West a large one eyed Cyclops creature appeared and joined the fray. Its first attack really hurting Florizel, the party worked slowly in taking out the other drunken fool and the second red headed woman. Before they both fell the Cyclops took a second and then a third strike out at Florizel and eviscerated him sending him crashing to the group, his blood covering the snowy ground. A combination of his cat and Shinigami took out the Cyclops claw and magic trumping it.
With Florizel laying on the ground Blondie sat by him looking down sadness in his eyes before letting out a loud sound and the party took a moment to soak the moment in and then prepare Florizel and bury him nearby to the hut... After the moment passed they slowly headed out to the West and investigated the hut that the other group had come from, they searched the area and found nothing of any real significance. After thinking over the situation they all decided to head back to the area where the Stone Piper had fought the party the previous night and headed to the South down a path. To the West the party saw a house that had somehow become stuck at the top of a tree that appeared to have grown up underneath it and sent it up into the air, Shinigami noticed a sound coming from the elevated building and informed the party of this before calling up to the building for the person inside to reveal themselves. As it turned out in the house was a father and two children whom Fafnir helped to get down to the ground by use of a rope and grappling iron. The father thanked and we are sure would pass on the miracle carried out by Fafnir on that day, his cult just grows and grows especially his generosity when he tried to offer the poor man some money.
The party continued to investigate the area returning to where the Piper that had been manipulating the water had been located, they spotted that the area was still clear and remembering that they had seen a creature head up towards the North they headed that way, ensuring to be very careful in case anything should happen. This care was integral in Ignacio managing to spot a cleverly designed trap, several trip wires criss-crossed the area and were set to release several large tree trunk elevated up into the canopy of the trees. The party were wary of trying to pass this area but Shinigami opted to use the Hand of the Mage he had collected from the Clock Tower and used it to manipulate the trip wires bringing down several of the tree trunks crashing to the ground. Thorsen in a outstanding moment of bravery or maybe it was just frustration with all the waiting around dashed forward and tried his best to avoid any further trunks that would fall... This wasnt quite as successful as he would have hoped, rather than any other trunks falling he actually managed to trip over the ones already on the ground but managing to arrive on the other side of the trip wires he was soon followed by the rest of the party.
North of there the party find a caravan containing a group of dead human merchants covered in Gremlin claw and bite marks. Hidden within the overturned caravan they spot a small coffer which immediately interests Shinigami but several disapproving looks from the party later and he decides to leave everything as they found it and Thorsen performs last rites for the bodies and the caravan is set alight. Going back to the North all the way to the hut where the drunken group had comes from the party find the final Dawn Piper and a fight happens after Fafnir tries to cast a silence spell over the area where the Piper was doing its ceremony. Thorsen summons two wolves and Shinigami and Ignacio are both temporarily blinded. the Piper and a tree like creature attack the group. The wolves help surround the treelike creature and due to a combined effort they bring it down, the piper on the other hand is faring a lot better with the party, several attacks hitting Fafnir hurting him quite a lot... Shinigami spots this and targets the Piper hurting her quite a lot causing her to begin aiming for Shinigami leaving Fafnir quite badly hurt trying to heal himself. Shinigami taking his time moved round a little now able to see having lost his summoned eagle until he was in the position he was waiting for, at which time he let go with a flurry of Magic Missiles hitting and finally killing off the Piper. As the Piper died the leaves that had been floating around slowly fell back down to the ground. The party takes a minutes break and uses that time to decide the best course of action, deciding to head back to where the energy siphon was they hope to find it gone.
Arriving at the siphon they find it gone and slowly approach the Dancing Hut, upon their approach they spot the Hut surrounded by a bone link fence and on the fence impaled to it are the final two Riders of Baba Yaga. The group approach the area and looking around Thorsen is the first to notice two creatures, one a beautiful blonde woman floating ten feet in the air and also a large ice golem before anything can be said or done by the party the women says, "I suppose I should thank you for ridding me of this fey incursion, but we both know what you've cost me already." Shinigami internally grins wondering if this is The White Witch Nazhena and if she is referencing the killing of Radosek that he himself finally carried out. Before she can act any further both Shinigami and Thorsen both fired fireballs at her, they both ended up hitting Nazhena and the Ice Golem causing both a decent amount of damage. The White Witch trying to escape the flames flew over the hut and began attacking the party whilst the Ice Golem entered into combat with Ignacio. At the same time Shinigami continued hitting The White Witch with magic attack after magic attack, this constant barrage must have begun to really damage and annoy her as she moved in on the attack and sent a strange beam towards Shinigami, this immediately made Shinigami feel weird almost like his magic was being stripped away a little at a time from him.
Ignacio was in a hard fought battle with the Ice Golem aided by Thorsen whilst Fafnir tried to engage Nazhena in combat having hit the sorcerer with her magic level drain she began concentrating on Fafnir which actually turned out to be a mistake. But for now we will look at the Ice Golem who was slowly being melted and burned to death by a combined effort of Thorsens flames and Ignacios physical attacks, looking the worst for wear the Golem was slowly being chipped away at until the flames Thorsen had set upon him finally claimed its victim and the Golem died away to nothing. This only left Nazhena who was still fighting and damaging Fafnir, Shinigami seeing this yet feeling magically weakened sent out all the Magic Missiles that he could muster.... The two missiles striking its target and making the dreaded White Witch fall to the floor dead. Everyone was healed up by Fafnir and Shinigami still felt out of sorts but couldn't quite tell the problem.

The party put the White and Red Riders to rest and then approached the four thick chains holding down the hut, once they touched them something in the mantle that they carried enabled them to break the chains and when they had broken the party entered the hut which appeared to open and welcome them in. The room they found themselves in was dominated by a large cauldron in the centre of the room which was bubbling lightly, the rest of the room contained almost every alchemical component one could imagine, one corner of the room was dominated by a fireplace which after further investigation was adorned with a strange glowing symbol that the party ignored for now choosing to investigate instead the door to the North, as they approached and opened it they were surprised to sense that this door too opened to welcome them and the mantle seemed to be acting like their key. The room beyond this was like an observation room dominated by a large see though glass floor where a map was there showing an unknown location. As Ignacio approached one of the first chairs around the room the bones on it came to life, the bone golem stood up and attacked the party... After several failed attacks from the entire party Fafnir had an idea and began channelling positive energy this seemed to harm and slow the creature and the party began to attack the creature in a more positive way... Thorsen became trapped in a cage and it took him a few rounds to manage to escape after a concerted effort by the whole party the Bone Golem feel to the ground dead.
The party headed back into the main room and it was here that they encountered the Dancing Huts cleaner called Zorka, this unusual female hag began babbling and wandering around the hut, acting surprised at who the party where. Shinigami decided to take the lead and began a conversation with Zorka. After several interactions the creature seemed to accept that the party was here for no ill reasons and in fact they were carrying with them the mantle of the black rider and had been tasked with the quest of finding and assisting Baba Yaga in her escape should she need it. The creature told the party all about the hut and its method of travel, as well as offering the party two keys for the two locked doors in the hut. She then vanished back into her hiding place the symbol near the fireplace.
The party were still trying to digest everything they had just been told as they investigated the room behind the secret door and there they found a library containing two very interesting objects, first a pair of glasses of Understanding which allowed the wearer to read any language. The second item was more immediately interesting it was a book that when opened to the centre page and placed against a flat wall within the Dancing Hut would open a door back to the library no matter what order or configuration or dimension the Hut was in. Shinigami stayed in the library and began to study up on this place called Earth that the little creature had mentioned was a favourite haunt of Baba Yaga. Meanwhile the other party members had gone to check out the other locked room, in there they find a strange chest wrapped in chains and after a number of futile attempts to open it they finally unwrap the chains and the party reunites in the main room but are unable to open the chest, Shinigami upon hearing of this considers and wonders if maybe they should recall Zorka and ask her about the chest and how to open it.
This is where we will leave the adventure for now, what will happen next time, will the party manage to get the chest open and what is in it, will they place the keys in the cauldron and will the several questions that Shinigami has in his head to ask Zorka if they recall her be answered.... Find out next time.

Awesome write-up!

In other news, I'm getting some nice vibe for my new character idea - pretty much set on some flavour of barbarian or bloodrager. The new playtest document, which includes the rules for bloodrager, will be released any day now according to the podcast, so I will wait for that before putting actual numbers down on paper.

In other news, is it bad that I am musing how I'll get all those knowledges and the perform skill in my build - and whether it's worth dipping bard for? I don't think barbarians are supposed to care about all that quite so much :).

The new edition of the playtest version of the ACg has just been released, and I think I will build a Slayer as a replacement for poor departed Florizel. Very tempted to make it a fairly tanky melee type, instead of the perhaps more optimal archery assassin. Let me know what you think - I'm still reading, having just downloaded the document.


I havent looked into the new classes but I would say pick Slayer if you like the mechanics of it, if it doesnt break the game and if it is something you think would be fun to play and would suit your preferred play-style. I know that advice probably isnt helpful but it is the stock answer I give ha. Good damage output with someone that can tank is always a welcome addition considering we have a few spell-casters anyway. But who knows the kind of things we are going to come up against where-ever the hut takes us next.


Well, my character is complete. Since I start with 5th level gear I will actually drop a few points of armour class, which won't help - and no spellcasting at all, ie no buffs or heals. But my melee options are pretty good, so that's nice. Hopefully, gear will pick up over time. As it stands, I'll have less than Florizel had by quite some margin.

Immortal Structure (Ex) Reducing the Dancing Hut to 0
hit points causes its legs to buckle, bringing the hut
itself toppling to the ground. Such a defeat has no
effect on the hut’s extradimensional interior or any
creatures inside the hut. The hut remains immobile and
unresponsive to its owner’s commands to move or use
any of the special abilities described in its creature stat
block for 24 hours, though the transportive abilities of
the hut and its cauldron can still be employed. The hut
cannot be reduced to fewer than 0 hit points, no matter
what damage, circumstances, or environment it might
be subjected to after its defeat. After 24 hours, the hut
regains half its hit points (94 hp) and its fast healing
ability reactivates. It may then use its special abilities to
escape from nearly any situation in which it finds itself.
The Dancing Hut can only be destroyed by the method
detailed in the artifact’s destruction entry.
Swallow Whole (Ex) If the Dancing Hut successfully grapples
a creature with its slam attack, the victim is scooped up by
the hut’s front door and flung inside. The target appears
within the extradimensional space inside the hut—the
layout of which depends upon the hut’s physical location.
Being inside the hut is not necessarily dangerous, unless
one of Baba Yaga’s guardians or some other creature is
there. A swallowed creature can attempt to escape by
breaking open the front door, a deceptively sturdy barrier
with hardness 15 and 100 hit points that also benefits from
the hut’s fast healing ability. The hut can expel swallowed
creatures as a full-round action, flinging them from its
open door. It must attempt a combat maneuver check
against creatures that don’t wish to leave, with failure
meaning the target is able to hold on to the pitching and
warping interior. The hut may choose which creatures it
wishes to expel and which to keep inside.


As we left the party last session they were in the main room of the dancing hut gathered around the chest, Shinigami upon hearing of this considers and wonders if maybe they should recall Zorka and ask her about the chest and how to open it. But before they do Shinigami gives the chest one further attempt at opening it, this time the chest opens and the party look inside, what they see shocks and surprises them, a desiccated hairless cat with a blank face is found inside. After a few moments the creatures began moving and climbed out of the chest Beginning to clean itself its face slowly began to take the form of Shinigami. The creature turned out to be Migrus and Shinigami began wracking his brain to see what he could remember about these creatures and remembers that it considers the last creature to release it from the locker is its master which basically means it had become the property of Shinigami for the moment. As the party where beginning to settle in the hut they became aware of a disturbance coming from the entrance way and the doors burst open and a short Dwarven individual walked in, the party immediately felt a kinship with this individual and recognised him as carrying the mantle of one of the other riders of Baba Yaga and after a short conversation they agreed to travel together and filled each other in on their experiences to date.
Finally the party realised that they needed to take the risk and try the keys to the hut and place them within the large cauldron in the middle of the room. Ignacio approached and placed the keys inside it picking up the large ladle and began stirring it rapidly. For a moment the area appeared to shake and buzz around the party and begin shimmering as the internal structure shifted around the central cauldron room and physically shift its exterior location. Several moments later the world seemed to steady and settle as the location shift completed. The party began to relax and let out a breath that none of them realised they had been holding. Whilst Thugar, Ignacio and Thorsen discussed what the group should do next Fafnir and Shinigami looked around the room for the symbol that Zorka had come out of earlier but it was nowhere to be seen. Curious if the location and configuration shift had changed anything else Shinigami opened the book they had acquired from the library and placed it against the nearest wall, immediately the book created a door which opened up directly into the library that the party had seen before... Satisfied with this Shinigami closed the book and the door closed with it.
The party decided that they should begin investigating the new layout of the hut and find out where they had moved to so they walked out of the cauldron room and into the hallway outside. Thorsen as soon as he exited the room became aware of illusion on the opposite wall that he believed was covering up a secret door, making a mental note of it the party decided to head to the North in order to try and get an idea of the layout of the hut and maybe find Zorka again. Around a bend in the hallway a few hundred feet to the North the party came upon a large doorway. Upon closer examination they spotted several symbols carved into the door itself, the main one was of a half circle with arrows pointing out from it and a secondary symbol being a downward arrow, several of the party looked over these symbols and Shinigami seemed to recall that in the past he had encountered this and believed it to be the Iobarian symbol for Twilight usually used by witches. Looking around the hallway the party noted that it appeared to circle back on itself and decided that instead of checking this door they would investigate down the hallway and come back to this door at a later time.
Travelling to the East along the hallway they quickly come to a second door of similar construction to the first one, the major difference this time being the symbols on the door itself. These symbols were firstly a half circle again with arrows pointing outwards from it but this time the second set of arrows where pointing both up and down, again Shinigami thought back to similar symbols he had encountered in the past and remembered that this was the Iobarian symbol for Night. When he told the party of this they started to put together a pattern for these doors and Thugar suggested that there should be a third door and that it would be a good idea to look for that one too before starting to investigate any of these doors. By now Shinigami who was unused to walking around this much rolled his eyes wondering if they would ever actually do anything other than walk from door to door, but when the rest of the party started moving he hurried along with them not wishing to be left behind, "Never split the party" running through his head as a mantra.
Heading further along the hallway the party stayed together and followed it until they came to a third door down to the South, by now Shinigami was getting frustrated as was the rest of the party but they quickly got over it and concentrated on the symbols again on the doorway and using their past experience with the other two doors they knew it would probably be of Iobarian origin and have something to do with a time of day using their past experience and knowledge they collectively had gained the party quickly translated the symbols meaning (either day or dawn I dont remember but I think it was dawn). The party approached the door but Shinigami quickly checked for magic and found that the door was blocked and locked with some type of arcane lock and instead opted to not try and mess with it for the moment causing another short dose of sighs from the party as they realised that they would have to backtrack and try some of the other doors first that for some reason hadnt been arcane locked.
Too frustrated to walk all of the way back to the "Night" door the party came to a halt at the door they had previously translated as Twilight and Ignacio approached the door and opened it from the door came a strong odour of carrion and as the party entered the room beyond they saw the walls covered in tree branches and in the centre of the room appeared to be a glowing orb sat on a perch. The party entered the area and approached the orb very curious as to what it was, they didnt have to wait long for an answer as a large black raven appeared from the ceiling and came to rest perched on the top of the orb casting its shadow around the room. it sat there in silence and Shinigami assessed that it did not appear to be posing an immediate threat to the group attempted to engage it in conversation claiming that they group where the favoured servants or Baba Yaga and where there in order to locate her and attempt to free her from her captivity... The raven did not appear to notice or even acknowledge this,, however it did begin staring at Shinigami quite intently and he felt a strange presence in his head sifting through his thoughts... After a few moments of silence the raven said in common "Baba Yaga is not here but she can be found do not fear. First you must prove to me that you have the strength to bear the knowledge." It then went on to give the party a riddle which went thus, "Born as twins they live not, yet they do grow until death, their fates are tied, ever crescent as the moon, they are symbols of the warriors pride." finishing by telling the group that what he seeks is in the room beyond the branches and they should bring the answer to him... The party were a little taken back by this and tried to think of what it could possibly be that the raven wanted, Thugar began to wonder about what kind of trophy a warrior may acquire and started to muse that the tusks of some huge creature may be the answer.
The group approached the branches as a weak spot and began hacking away at them cutting them up until a corridor was exposed which the party headed down. Ignacio taking the lead as he arrived at the opening to the room beyond he spotted out of the corner of his eyes a large boar like creature in the corner, as he turned to warn the party it charged at him hurting him badly. A frantic battle ensued in which Ignacio was badly hurt after several gores from the boar and Thugar was injured trying to acrobatically get into an advantageous position on the creature. The creature angry and insane attacked viciously without care for its own safety hurting several party members in the process the two magic users damaging it, Shinigami fired out several volleys of magic missiles the final of these killing the creature and causing it to collapse in a bloody heap. Thorsen approached the creature and very skilfully and carefully removed its tusks and at Thugars suggestion handed them over to the person that dealt the killing blow Shinigami incase it required that the victor hand the prize over... As they returned to the raven it acknowledged the tusks and slowly raised into the air saying, "This amulet holds one of the clues you seek, it reveals the first identity of the first key... Look for the first key where time catches up to us all..." he then dropped the amulet and flew off and disappeared but not before adding "Look for the mother when the moon is full". Shinigami picked up the amulet and checking it over saw it had written on it the word "Dragon" and detected slightly of magic but he was unsure of the type of magic.
Their moral high after the success in getting the first amulet the party immediately headed towards the door that had the symbol for "Night" on it and once again Ignacio opened the door, inside the party only saw darkness a very un-natural darkness which only Thugar was able to see through, he took the lead and led the party into the room and towards a red glowing orb in the centre of the room. As they approached a white albino raven appeared from above them and landed perching on the red glowing orb making it visible to the party. Shinigami took a step forward and being in possession of one of the amulets he spoke to the raven bringing their mission to the ravens attention and that they had already proved themselves worthy to one of the other ravens. He seemed to consider for a moment and then said, "You have proven to me that you have good intentions yet you must prove to me that you have the wits to bear the knowledge I possess." As with the first raven he had a riddle for the party and stated it thus, "I mark nights coming, and I will mark your end, I run yet not in fear, and I have not even a friend..." gesturing towards a opening to the South the raven said that the answer is to be found in the adjoining room mentioning that they had to drink from a chalice in order to complete the riddle.
Immediately Shinigami wondered if this had something to do with a clock or some clock like device which gave Thugar the idea of a sands of time hourglass type object and the party led by Thugar headed into the room to the South. As they entered the room they found a thin pathway heading South surrounded by a area of water, at the Southerly point there was a raised platform with five different chalices on it and upon closer inspection each chalice had a small symbol on it but no one was able to understand it so the party used a scroll in order to assist Shinigami in reading them and realising that one of the chalices had the symbol for a hourglass on it. Mentioning this to the party Ignacio stepped forward and took a drink causing several stepping stones to raise out of the murky water leading to the pedestal furthest to the South. the party trying to decide what to do noticed that the stones rapidly vanished back into the water. Thugar took the chalice and took a long drink then with a rope tied around his waist as soon as the stones raised he immediately headed for the pedestal and picking up the hourglass that was there headed back to the party, but not quite fast enough as the stones began submerging again and he was drawn into the murky water. He tried to swim but quickly felt himself losing his breath and began drowning, a combined effort between him swimming and the party pulling on the rope managed to get him to the raised area but he was unconscious when he was finally pulled out of the murky water. Shinigami quickly grabbed the hourglass to stop it falling into the water as the others hurried around healing Thugar refusing to lose another party member so soon after the losses of Florizel and Blondie. Once revived Shinigami gave the hourglass to Thugar and said that he deserved the honour this time. Returning to the raven the Thugar handed over the hourglass and the raven said "You have taken on to yourself a very great burden and for that which you desire is in the hands of the changeling" as well as mentioning that the amulet contains a clue and finally "Only when the moon wanes will you find the crone." Before flying away.
With the two amulets accompanying them the party where in very high spirits, Ignacio feeling a little strange inside was wearing the most recently acquired amulet informed the party that he was feeling slightly unwell and the group worried that the chalice had been poisoned cast a spell of delay poison on him before continuing to the most Southerly door with the symbol for "Dawn" (or Day) on it. As they approached the door Shinigami once again checked the door for magic but however this time it appeared that the magic had dissipated and left the door unprotected. Ignacio slightly warily opened the door and looked inside and looked around. Inside the room the party sees a pathway leading to the centre of the room and ending at a large shimmering pool of water which had the third and final raven hovering over the surface, its eyes intently on the party glancing between Shinigami and Ignacio the two bearers of its companions amulets. Once again Shinigami approached and addressed the creature informing it of their mantles and encounters with the other two ravens.... The raven looks around for a second and then says, "In order to gain my assistance as you have my companions you will need to demonstrate to me that you have the resolve to fulfil your desires, you must show and prove your mental fortitude and face that which I the herald of the coming day cannot." Cawing and flapping its wings its gives the group its riddles, which is as follows, "Each night I visit, sometimes horror, sometimes wondrous, sometimes prophetic, when day comes I flee..." Thugar immediately jumps in with a suggestion that it is something to do with dream or nightmare but the raven continues interrupting "When you come to face this thing you will know its desire and in its desire you shall find your own..."
The party looked around the room and saw a passage that headed off to the West, moving away from the raven they entered the door and the sign that appeared before them was quite mundane in nature, a simple bedroom dominated by a large bed in the centre of it, the only unusual thing was that the bed had a large blood red stain covering the centre of it. The party approached the bed cautiously and yet were still not prepared for the ghostly creature that appeared in front of them it appeared to be a female Jadwiga looking of similar heritage to the queens of Irrisen. The ghostly creature appeared to mutter something under its breath and suddenly Shinigami and Thugar became deeply fearful, Thugar unable to stop himself began running away, Shinigami would have done the same thing but Fafnir stepped in and pressing his mace against him Shinigami felt the fear begin to dissipate. Back to his senses he remembered the ravens riddle and began attempting to question the creature about its wants, needs and desires which brought a singular reply of "Death" and yet each time it appeared to anger the creature which in a rage attacked Fafnir and Ignacio as well as attempting several times to touch Thorsen. All this time Shinigami attempted unsuccessfully to attack with flurries of magic missiles all of which appeared to simply fizzle out. Things began to look back when both Fafnir and Ignacio went down, Ignacio would have been a hilarious knockdown had it not been such a serious situation as for some reason he decided to hit himself instead of the creature floating directly in front of him. the combined effort of Thorsen and Shinigami finally managed to bring the ghastly creature down and Thorsen began reviving the other party member as Thugar ran back to the party looking slightly embarrassed. The group approached the raven and expecting him to ask for something they were surprised when it simply dropped its amulet and said, "Seek now the sisters three, mother, maiden and crone, yet know that the maiden is hard to find and may only be found with the waxing moon..." before disappearing into the pool of water.
After a lot of healing was used the party found themselves really needing a rest and Thorsen suggested that they head back to the main cauldron room as it appeared to be the most defensible so the group headed back. En-route they passed the area where Thorsen had noticed the hidden door, yet this time a door was actually revealed behind the illusory wall, ignoring this for the moment the group went back to the main room and rested up for several hours, Thugar keeping to himself a little still maybe a little embarrassed at running away in the last battle. Several hours later with the party up and refreshed they headed off to the hidden secret door and opened it after switching around the amulets. Beyond the door they saw a multi-levelled foyer area, standing in this area was a tall heavily armoured individual who after his initial surprise at the party appearing behind him began talking in a strange language, only to switch to Draconic when he saw that the party didn't respond. his name was Ratobour and he had been given the task of protecting the hut from intruders coming from outside. Which left him in a quandary as the party had approached from inside. Shinigami had a brief conversation with him and the party except for Thugar headed off to try and find Zorka to see what they could find out about this guardian.
After a rather humorous exchange with Zorka the party found out the following about Ratobour (I know that my write-up can't do this justice so I will just list the main points that I remember sorry Steven... He was a very powerful Iobarian warlord who commanded a massive army and controlled vast swathes of land making him a powerful individual yet nature began to ravage the lands, a horrible plague sweeping through Iobaria decimating the people. After seeking advice he called for the help and assistance of Baba Yaga who offered him a deal, she would aid him in curing the illness only if he would by way of repayment brig her the head of a demon lord (prepare for a butchered spelling) Kostichitchies champion (whose name I dont remember sorry). Ratobour instead brought her the head of one of the champions rivals and as a punishment forced him to become the guardian of the hut and imprisoned him in it. The hag creature then went on to tell the party that they may be able to release him from his service should they find a certain book located somewhere in Iobaria saying it was in some way connected to the mother whatever that means.
It was at this time that shouts are heard to be coming from Ratobour warning of an attack coming from several huge frost giants. the party hurried to the foyer area and Ratobour informed the party that one of them should take control of the hut if they were in fact the favoured servants of Baba Yaga, this role was designated to Shinigami who through the manipulation of an egg in a clay bowl made the hut begin moving.....
This is where we will leave the adventure for now, what will happen next time, will the party manage to get the hut to work to their benefit, will the hut be in any way able to stand up to the large number of frost giants surrounding it... What exactly is the meaning to the cryptic comments made by the ravens, maiden, mother and crone and the location of the two keys, who is this Ratobour? So many questions and so few answers. What will happen find out next time?

Tiny white crystals hang suspended in
a clear fluid inside this fist-sized glass
ball, which contains a miniature scene
of leafless trees in a snow-covered
landscape. Shaking the globe (a move
action) activates it, and causes the
crystals inside to fly wildly about the
globe, taking on the appearance of a mad snowstorm for 1d6
minutes until they settle back down. Shattering an activated
globe (hardness 1, hp 2) creates raging blizzard conditions
in a 2-mile-radius circle centered on the location where the
globe was shattered. In this area, temperatures drop to below
freezing, winds blow at over 50 miles per hour, and heavy
snow falls (see pages 438–439 of the Core Rulebook). It takes
10 minutes for the blizzard to form, and the conditions last
for 1 hour before dissipating, at which point normal weather
conditions in the area return. Once shattered, a globe of
blizzards is destroyed.

When we last left our heroes the party had just found themselves surrounded by eight, yes eight Frost Giants and Shinigami had just taken control of the Dancing Hut. As the Frost giants attacked the party tried to find any vantage point so they could assist in the battle from the inside. They need not have worried though as Shinigami expertly controlled the Hut and immediately grabbed one of the Frost Giants and made it disappear into the Huts extra-dimensional space after already causing it plenty of damage. Suddenly the act of disposing of the largest Frost Giant so easily caused all the Frost Giants that had seen it to begin shaking and become concerned for their own safety, two of them in fact began running away. the remaining five Frost Giants approached the Hut and attempted to attack to little or no effect as now the Hut under the guidance of Shinigami struck out again grabbing the nearest two Frost Giants, one in each hand and swallowed them whole as well... The others had dumbfounded looks on their faces and decided that enough was enough, turning to run they did not see nor expect the attacks that came from inside the tower from Fafnir and Ignacio. Two more Frost Giants fell as the remainder of them ran away as if their lives depended on it, which as it turned out they did...

The Hut slowly began to wrest back control and cam to a soft but definite resting position once more resembling a regular hut if not for the large beak. The party began to collect themselves and taking several deep breaths were left in awe at the power of their new found transport. Not wanting to waste much time they headed to the library via Shinigamis magical book and entered deciding that it would be a good idea to do some research on several topics, including this place called Earth, but no information could even be found in reference to earth making the party wonder what Baba Yaga was hiding. Thorsen looked up Dragons in the area and found that there was in fact a giant Dragon that resided far to the North and held all of the lands of Dvezda Marches as its own and is
worshiped almost by the Tsolniva Centaurs. Thugar and Shinigami both went to look up any references to the Maiden, the Mother and the Crone relating to the area and quickly found numerous references to a large set of three imposing dungeons called Artrosa that towered over and dominated the surrounding land in the forms of a Maiden, a Mother and a Crone... This immediately made the party think deeper on the riddles that they had been given during their trip around the newly formed Hut.

Putting two and two together most of the party realised that the riddles told the party that depending on which phase the moon was in at that time would denote which figure contained the portal that allowed entrance into Artrosa. Gathering up various supplies the party decided that now would be a good time to venture forth and after one final time trying to convince the guardian to allow them to return unharmed they left the Hut and began the long trek towards Artrosa...

During the journey the group used their knowledge of the dates and lunar calendar to realise that the portal would currently be located in the figure of the Maiden. As they made steady going towards Artrosa the group entered a small forested area and began to feel eyes upon them coming from all directions in the trees. Ignacio raised a hand to stop the party and they caught sight of several Centaurs surrounding them in the treeline. Attempting to be diplomatic Ignacio called out to them
stating that the party where friendly but the Centaurs initially seemed to be wary and unsure of the newcomers. Finally when one of them spoke it was in a language that none of them seemed to know but listening carefully Ignacio picked up on a few words but wasnt sure of the context of them after several more words from the Centaurs and noting the confusion on the parties face he began speaking in elven this time... Ignacio immediately jumping in and beginning to converse with them whilst Shinigami translated for the rest of the party. It turned out that the Centaurs where wary of the group due to the fact that they had come from the Dancing Hut and they were afraid that Baba Yaga had returned to enslave them again...

After a brief conversation during which Ignacio managed to convince the Centaurs that the group meant them no harm, the Centaurs "requested" that the group accompany them back to their camp and meet with their leader Korak. This request was not exactly made as an offer than could be refused and the party with half smiles on their faces agreed and decided to accompany the Centaurs back to the camp... Upon arrival at the camp they seen numerous Centaurs around, males and females all armed who also looked upon the party with suspicious eyes and a level of distrust and fear that the party were becoming to feel familiar and comfortable with. They walked through the camp until they came upon main camp fire and a rather impressive looking Centaur who was introduced to the party as Korak Kaag the leader of this clan of Centaurs. He informed them of the current situation in Iobaria and also some of the fears of the Centaurs relating to Baba Yaga and the return of the Hut. Thugar and Ignacio spoke to the Cheiften and tried to put his mind at ease regarding their intentions with being there and Thugars hatred of Giants and all allies of Giants. This combined with the honesty the party showed put Karaks mind at ease and he invited them to stay in the camp for the night and set off towards Artrosa in the morning where he would send his best scout to help them on their way and keep a watch out for them. The party accepted this proposal and headed to a smaller set of tents a little away from the main camp to settle down for the night.

As the party settled down for the night though a sudden ruckus was heard from the main camp, cries of pain, the sounds of metal clashing and this raised until it was unmistakably the sounds of battle. Just as the party were beginning to ready themselves several unusual looking creatures appeared surrouding the party, they turned out to be otherworldly demons called Andrazku... They immediately picked up on the party and began attacking. Shinigami found that his magic didnt appear to effect the demons but their attacks definitely hit and hit hard... Thugar was the first to feel these attacks they quickly began to overpower the group. But thugar began fighting back taking one of them down prone constantly slowly hurting it with blow after blow. Shinigami using magic missile to hurt and take another one down whilst Ignacio took out the third... As the battle reached a tipping point one of the Andrazku got a half lucky hit in on Fafnir an he went down in a bloody mess... The blood slowly seeping out of his wounds, Thorsen tried to step forward to help him but
was unable to heal him in time and he temporarily died...

The party begin mourning but the Centaurs who are in awe of the parties fighting spirit and thankful for their help inform them that they have a healer and some stock of scrolls and they trade Ember-chill for the resurrection and also at the same time get some curing for Thorsens curse which was slowly draining his Willpower (what is it about Thorsen, curses and blindness anyone would think that he was cursed!). The party finally settle in for the night and sleep uneventfully, thus night becomes morning and at the next morning the whole party arise. The next morning they are informed that they are to be escorted to Artrosa by one of the clans best trackers a young and wild looking female Centaur. Several hours outside of the camp the group come across a weird cauldron in the middle of the pathway, inside it is a rather strange sight, a twenty sided dice... Not much of a one for gaming in general Shinigami is more interested in actually getting moved towards Artrosa but the rest of the party are curious and approach the cauldron... Four of them roll the dice and going third Thorsen after rolling appears to pass out making the party who are unsurpised by this sigh...

The group pull along Thorsen and continue heading towards Artrosa. It takes several hours but finally Thorsen recovers and the group continue until they come upon a pair of towers stretching into the sky. Four skeleton archers stand atop the tower two large blackened skeletons approach the party and a fight breaks out. They kill off the archers and Shinigami kills one of the blackened skeletons. The others fall too, then the party find a dead body wearing an icy piece of armor, which Thorsen takes an feeling comfortable with it not being metal of any kind puts it on... This time nothing bad happens and no curse... Has he broken his curse with curses we shall see...

This is where we leave our party for this session, will they get to Artrosa, what will they find there and will they ever get back into the Hut and maybe find the item that can help release the guardian from his slavery...
