I have a Maneuver Master Monk in PFS with the Moonlight Stalker feat chain, and I regularly make use of Feinting in order to deny opponents their DEX versus my attack. However, I was recently told that Feint isn't actually a combat maneuver since it doesn't use CMB/CMD, and thus I can't use it with Maneuver Master.
Is this correct? It seems utterly bizarre to me, but a cursory reading of the rules doesn't find anything to contradict this...

Indeed Feint is not a Combat Maneuver (d20pfsrd makes a point of reiterating this) - feinting doesn't really help the Maneuver Master Monk all that much.
Do you have other abilities that depend on an opponent being denied their DEX to your attacks? (sneak attacks etc)?
Particularly at higher levels you will face many opponents for whom denying their DEX won't really make a big difference - dirty tricks that might grant you concealment against a given foe (i.e. blinding them) would seem to work better with the Moonlight Stalker chain of feats.
