GM and Player credit for Play-by-post scenarios

I am running my first PFS scenario as a play-by-post campaign. I'm guessing that all I need to do for the players is fill out their chronicle sheets as per normal, scan and e-mails them.

What about session ID numbers? Is this something I need to get from Paizo? Is there a specific number for each scenario somewhere in the booklet?

Also, any other reporting advice you have for online games would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

You would create the event for online play just like any other normal event, and use that event code.

Sign, scan, and email is perfectly fine, as are a number of other methods. Just depends on how you want to handle it.

Of course, now that we have a TechnoVC, he may want to come and contradict me.

Session ID numbers are assigned to you by paizo when you create the event. At the top of the main PFS page here, click on "My Pathfinder Society" then "GM/Event Coordinator" tab.

Here you can create an event if you haven't done so already. Once created, the system will assign you the event number to put at the bottom of the chronicle sheet.

This is also the same place you will record the game after its completed, under that event number. (see report links on the right side of the events once you made one)

This sounds fine. Personally I fill in the information that's the same for everyone, scan it, then use an image editing program to add the additional details that are unique for each player before e-mailing.

Do you mean the event code at the bottom of the chronicle sheet? If you haven't, you need to create an event on the Paizo site.

- Go here.
- Click 'GM/Event Coordinator'.
- Click 'Create Your Event'.
- Fill in the fields: Event name ('Derek's PBP games' or similar), Tick the 'Event takes place online' box, Untick the 'Event is public' box, plus any others that are obvious
- Save the form

On the 'GM/Event Coordinator' tab, you should now have an event code you can use. When the session is complete, click 'report' on the right hand side to fill in the table details. Use the end date of the PBP game in the date field.

If you leave your event open, you can use the same event code for future PBP games.

Some kind of online Chronicle sheet form would be nice. It would save on the printing/filling out paper form/scanning/emailing cycle.

Sorry, my answer was kinda generic. I didnt notice the 'my first PFS scenario', I thought you meant it was just the first one you were doing as a PbP.

Thanks everyone!

So Paz, you're saying I can use the same event code over and over for multiple PBP scenarios?

Also, I am running a First Steps adventure - I can only apply this credit to one of my level 1 characters, correct?

In other sessions, I can apply XP to any tier-appropriate character, but only once? Or once per character?

Yes, I have one 'Paz's online games' event code that I use for all play-by-post or Roll20 games that I run.

Correct.

You get one GM chronicle sheet per scenario, which you can apply to one of your PCs. You don't get a chronicle when GMing the same scenario again.

(You don't have to take the chronicle sheet the first time you GM a scenario, but I imagine most people do.)
