So a net does not normally deal damage, but they potentially can, so that raises a few questions:
1) A snag net (Ultimate Equipment) can deal 1 point of damage with a CMB check to an entangled creature. Does a magic weapon enhancement bonus on the net add to the damage? Weapon Specialization?
2) How does the shock (or any other that deals damage) magic weapon special ability work when applied to a net? The enemy is in contact with the net every round they are entangled. Do they take the damage only on the initial hit or every round they are entangled?
3) Can you apply sneak attack damage to the initial hit with the net? Since you are able to "catch an opponent when he is unable to defend himself effectively from her attack". Nothing in the rules states you must deal damage to apply the sneak attack damage.

1. I would say sure why not
2. Flaming, frost, and shock all say "on a successful hit", you never "hit" someone with net, you through it and it falls over them. Personally I would allow it to add the damage for the snag net when it does damage though.
3.I would work this again like the flaming/frost/shock. But I would still not allow it even for the snag net when it does damage.
If you are in a game where the GM is willing to throw away sense and say it works then have at it, just beware the assassin that comes to kill you in the night with a net :)

You must make a ranged touch attack. I would say that counts as a "hit". Or else quite a few spells and thrown items would not "hit".

That is a good idea, a contact poison coated net...
