Roll20 Pathfinder Society

Online Play

Hey, so this is my first post on the forums, and im new to pathfinder society, but ive been playing since it was released and played 3.0 and 3.5 before that. Im from mid-michigan, and its hard to find events anywhere near me. I dont know if anyone here is familiar with this, but http://roll20.net/ is a really nice virtual tabletop that plays in ur browser and thats free, but i noticed no one has to my knowledge hosted a society event on it before. I just think it would be a really good way to get people more connected to society and give them more of an opportunity to play and meet more people. It seems like it would be a very good way to host an almost unlimited number of games for people to connect to. Thoughts?

There's actually a fairly active PFS group on Roll20. I've GM'ed for them before, and it's pretty lively. :)

Check out their schedule!

I think that group only uses Roll20. There are several others around that use Fantasy Grounds, D20pro, Maptools, and just about any of the others available. I haven't seen anyone use Epic Table yet, but it looks interesting. Paizo is also developing their own product here.

Where are you at in Michigan? I know there's games being run in Fowlerville and Mt. Pleasant on a regular basis. Check out the forums on www.michiganpfs.org and see if anything is happening nearby, or toss an email to your local Venture Lieutenant, Eric Clingenpeel, and he might be able to help you find some players.

Thanks Matt... :) I PM'd him this afternoon, so hopefully I can help him find a home. ;)

I've personally had a less-than-awesome experience with the roll20 PFS group. You may want to check out IronHelixx ( http://www.warhorn.net/iron-helixx-pfs ) or another group instead.

For one thing, I've never received the chronicle sheet for the first game I played with them a week ago and both the GM and the organizer have refused to respond to my e-mails asking about the matter.

To add to this already shifty event, our game for today just got canceled "due to lack of players". The weird thing is, this table filled up (and has people waiting-listing to play) a week ago and the game isn't scheduled to take place for several hours. Besides, I've seen empty slots fill up in SECONDS.

As for other possible groups, there is TECHNICALLY a West Coast group ( roll20 PFS I believe is based in OK, IronHelixx in TX ), but it's essentially an empty shell with zero games actually taking place. If you ever see a game getting set up there, let me know please.

So if anyone finds a reputable, functioning group for playing PFS online, please let me know. I live way up in the mountains and this is my only access to PFS.

Good luck to you as well, OP

Jesse, take a look at pfrpg.com.au - we've got a chat room where online games run regularly. Stick around until someone replies if nobody replies immediately (people aren't looking at it 24 hours a day).

If you don't make sure to include the http:// then it thinks its part of paizo's site.
