ninja assasinate trick in PFS

Dark Archive 5/5 *

My thoughts.... not available till lvl 10 but combined with vanishing trick, light steps and a incredible stealth roll it does seem overpowered. Haven't seen too many tier 10-11 mods where encounters can see or detect invisible.

Your thoughts.........

The DC and other stipulations are the catch. At level 10, the DC is 15 + CHA. With a decent CHA (+4 or +5), you have a DC around 19-20 at level 10. You might be able to catch a Wizard or Sorcerer off-guard with that around 50% of the time. In later seasons (season 4 especially) the enemy mages are a little more tactical, there are Alarm spells around and if tripped will give them the signal to start buffing themselves with preparations. They'll either be flying, or summoning creatures (some of which will have tremorsense, scent, or the like) that will let them know something's in the area.

Also, remember that have to also be denied their DEX against the attack. So there goes Rogues and Barbarians with Improved Uncanny Dodge. High FORT characters like fighters, monks, and such will more than likely pass the save as well.

All in all, it doesn't seem too overpowered.

Compared to at-will swift greater invisibility (Invisible Blade), I really don't see the assassinate trick as being worth it.

And in Season 4, at that tier, I haven't seen an encounter that can't deal with invisibility in some way or another.
