DH and I have a cruise booked in February of 2014 and think it would be a blast to spend some time playing PFS on the sea days. Anyone interested? We have an 11 night cruise booked in mid-February on the Celebrity Equinox.
Please note that there would be a significant cost involved, since you'd be responsible for getting to Ft. Lauderdale, then the cruise itself aboard the ship.

We are sailing on Celebrity Equinox Feb 10-21, 2014. I booked through Lisa at Prestige Cruises in Las Vegas, NV. We did get a discount off the fare at Celebrity, as they have a group booked and put us in that group. Most of the time, if you book with a group for a theme cruise, you don't get a discount, but actually pay more because the organizer gets paid a little bit for doing organization. All I'm doing here is seeing if anyone else is interested in visiting the Caribbean in February of 2014 and might want to play PFS on the 4 sea days.
The suggestion of making friends with the cruise director would be a good one on some lines. On Celebrity, we are allowed to post messages on a board for free-form activities and don't need the cruise director's approval. We teach PFS locally, we just thought we'd throw it out to see if anyone else was interested. We don't want to lug along all the stuff we'd need to do a good job teaching the hobby.
I think the lowest cost inside room on the ship will run a person about $1600 with port taxes and hotel service charges, double occupancy. It is a fairly long cruise, and stops at Grand Cayman, Costa Rica, Columbia, Panama, Belize and Cozumel. Keep in mind that cruise prices are like hotel prices, they show you a price, then add on taxes and fees. On the other hand, the food is wonderful and all you care to eat, someone else does all the cooking and cleaning, and you get to enjoy the sun instead of snow in February -at least where I live.
So, if anyone has the capital and vacation days available and wants to go, please let us know! We'd want to work out scenarios and table make-up ahead of time, along with taking turns judging.

Neenah,
My wife and I might be interested (depending on the details). The Florida PFS site is used quite a lot, actually... you need to go to the forums area- there are geographic "Lodges" set up as well as general areas to chat.
I saw mention of a cruise in June called "Club MACE 2013" just recently. I'll have to look into the particulars later on.

There was a CruiseCon many years ago, back during the 2nd Edition D&D days, they advertised at Origins, Gencon, etc. We didn't have the income back then. It was during the Living Jungle days - so been quite a while.
I did find the JoCo Cruise Crazy 4, which sounds like a blast, but DH and I are already booked on a longer cruise, for the two weeks before. They won't let people start booking for a couple more months. We're considering that in another year or two. We know there will be players on there, since the JCCC group are definitely our kind of people! They even mention gaming on their website!
I was mainly thinking of a couple of slots a day on the sea days, maybe a couple of slots during a couple of evenings, but not really scheduling much on port days. I want to enjoy the sun as well as game!
Either way, I'm throwing the dates and idea out there. If anyone wants specific contact info for my TA, to make sure you get the correct week and line, please PM me and I'll provide it.

Another cost to consider is the tip paid to the staff for everything they do. You have restaurant staff, hotel staff, bar staff, and possibly others.
My family gave my wife and me a cruse as a wedding present for our honeymoon. We were not expecting the automatic tip added to our bill. We felt terrible having to reduce the tip quite considerably after the incredible service presented to us on the cruise.
I could see a group booking a cruise together that spent a portion of the sea days playing Pathfinder. But usually there are things to do (or not do) while at sea which you won't have the chance to do back on land.
It would be like going on a cruise to read a book.

What's wrong with that? I plan to be doing that in two weeks!
