My Chartered Company name

I'm sorry if this has been covereed elsewhere but the number of threads and their length really makes it infeasible to search through them all.

I have what I think is a really cool Chartered Company name and concept. If I were to declare my Chartered Company on these boards and it were added to Nihimons list of Chartered Companies would that in anyway prevent someone else moving in on my turf so to speak. I did not pledge at Crowdforger Guild level so will have no protection via that avenue if any is provided.

If not I may just have to sit on it until Early Enrolement.

Any input appreciated.

You just ensured that someone will try and snipe your name if you share it.

There will be no name protection unless you pledged at the guild level. GW may put up the pledge packs on their own system, like RSI, so you may be able to buy the guild pack and reserve your name if you can afford it.

Nihimon's list has no official authority.

Thanks Valkner,

GW has said they could deny use of certian names or allocate them to other CC's. I just thought they may do such a thing in a case such as the onw I discribed. NVM I can keep it under my hat for now. I can certianly afford it but for me the question is, is it worth it? EE is still over a year away even if it comes out in the scheduled timeframes! I am sure I can successfully launch my CC on EE, just thought a head start would be nicer. NP :)

I say declare it now put in writing. Then have Nihimon's list it and put it on PFOFan.com as a group and add it to their wiki. Good luck anyone trying to claim it is theirs when you control the name in so many places. Plus if you name and CC are awesome you may start to draw a number of people interested in joining you.

It's very easy to control a name, some people make a good chunk of change buying up domain names. For instance, pfowiki.com was bought by a gaming website shortly after the game's announcement. Just because you have your name a bunch of places doesn't mean that other people won't grab it, if they can register before you.
