Where to put Titan Mauler Ogre.

Advice

I have two campaigns starting this week, and my Ogre barbarian character, Mortimer Mope, is looking like he's probably going to wipe the floor with anything that requires a good, simple smashing. I went Titan Mauler for the added awesome of a large character using a OMGHUGE weapon to decapitate dragons and froghemoths and the like. He's putting down 3d6+10 unraged base hits at level 1 with the rolls I rolled for him and a great axe, so I predict MASSIVE damage once he picks up Jotungrip. My question is, which campaign should I run him out of?

One is 4 person, one day per week, homebrew story with:

An ifrit mysterious stranger gunslinger
A vishkanya knifemaster rogue
A drow cavern sniper fighter
And me.

The other is a 6 person, possibly two per week, Rise of the Rune Lords story with:

A ratfolk plaguebringer alchemist
A fetchling master summoner
A dhampir bladebound magus
An oread student of stone monk
A suli-jann unbreakable fighter
And me

Alignments run in the neutral zone across the board, with the Ogre being chaotic neutral.

I'm rping Mr.Mope as the chewbacca to one of these characters han solo. Being that he's an Ogre and would be generally unacceptable in polite society, He travels hooded and cloaked with a monster mask on under the guise of being the mime in a duet of entertainers. He only speaks giant and can't communicate outside of whomever ends up being his han understanding the language but not speaking it, and his trusty parrot Porrage, who can understand Mope totally, but is limited to the squaking interpretations of whatever his parrot voice can muster.

TLDR: Where put Ogre where most smashing is needed?

Run him in the home-brew campaign and talk to your GM about a custom teamwork feat that lets the ranged characters ride on your shoulders.

RotR, the character is just... in appropriate, put him in the other one.

Absolutely. Any amount is too much.

He speaks, just not in a dialect of giant anyone but the parrot and han understand. Bear in mind, he isn't the brightest lightbulb in home depot, but he is smart enough at least to know that people don't like the look of him and are frightened by ogres. He won't take off his disguise in the company of strangers.

so he's wearing a disguise that doesnt make him a 10 foot tall guy weighing in excess of 600 lbs in a hooded cloak?

If andre the giant wandered around in cloak would he be less troublesome?

in THIS world people don't think is. that. an ogre in a cloak?
They think, wow whats up with that guy.

In RotRL people will be like RUN it's an ogre in a cloak!

But Mammy loves all of her children... well at least the boys.

OP: What level are you guys playing?

As an aside:

Both those groups are going to have problems healing, BTW. They're all thugs.

And plague bearer ratfolk? Really? :-P

Mayhaps the Han in this equation will be charismatic enough, or have high enough speechcraft to convince folks otherwise. Like "Nahhh he's just a normal dude wearing a fat/tall/ogre suit under the cloak..."

Willing suspension of disbeleif since he's a performer doing an act and all that jazz.

Then again, it does bring into question what happens once the ruse is up. Eventually, he's going to be discovered for what he is regardless of how speechcrafty Han may be. Maybe slave in chains in a better approach?

Yeahhh, Noone in either group have any misgivings about what or why we are. Both groups are pretty much unilaterally malintented in meaning and execution... Most are, in fact, escaped prisoners, town drunkards, scoundrels and thieves... Leaning more towards the chaotic half of neutral, possibly aiming for a shift towards the wickeder side of the fence as we progress.

Healing wise, both groups seperately came to a general consensus. We all agreed that going into the fray for us would be a full tilt bogey, no holds barred affair. Anything that lived long enough to cause us to take pause and heal up would be tactically retreated from and reapproached with a loaded-for-bear-vengeance after we licked our wounds.

We're starting at level 1 on both occasions.

Ogre love is something you get, whether you like it or not.

In fact, not liking is preferred, especially if you scream, or squeal like a pig.

Maybe one day, Mortimer Mope will fell a hollowed tree, fill it with some peatmoss and nightsoil... Then finally will have a willing receptical for all of his pent up ogrelove.

Watch as the people of Sandpoint shower adoration upon their heroes.

With pitchforks and fire.

No, for an Ogre, unwilling is preferred.

That's Ogre love, or as Tony the Tiger would put it: It's Raaaaaaaape!
