As my long-running (almost 3 years) Kingmaker campaign draws to a close (we're in the last chapter, getting stoned and such) I've turned some of my attention to a new PC. Aylia, the daughter of my KM Ranger, will be my first ever hereditary character. For me, it was a great boon to have the backstory pretty much ready to go. It was just so easy.
I have a character who really does come from rich parents! Not because I just pulled that out of thin air, but that's who this kid is. She's the daughter of the equivalent of a medieval Duke. It's quite scandalous really, when you consider how much a free-spirit she is. She's a two-weapon specialist like her mother, woodsy like her father. As a Scout, she's just like them but very, very, different.
Aylia Naaldir-Nuski
Thegn Celduron, Lord Turin Naaldir, was a Ranger of great renown, having helped to establish the new Kingdom of Haldur and then save it from other-worldly Fey incursions. Jelohra Nuski was also a Ranger of equal stature and a natural cunning. It was no wonder then, that baby Aylia spent the majority of her early life camping in the wilderness. As she grew older, she would often travel alone to nearby communities such as Tatzylford and on occasion would go as far as her father’s old camp at Thorn’s End. Turin took great pride in his daughter's woodcraft and her natural affinity for archery. He was absolutely certain that one day she would lead Celduron’s elite company of Rangers, the Black Feathers. Aylia had other priorities and being a career-soldier wasn’t one of them.
Like her mother, Jelohra, who had once been the leader of the River Razors, a notorious gang of bandits who had pillaged up and down the rivers of neighboring Pitax, Aylia had an urban streak. She could often be found in the seedier parts of Stagfort, the capital city of Haldur. Her "Uncle" Valhalrik, a traveling companion of her father’s and a venerated General of Haldur, ran the local black market there. It was he who first introduced the girl to drink and vice and all things Calean. He liked to call it an education and her mother, had she known about it, wouldn't necessarily have disagreed. Her father, on the other hand, would likely have been less than amused.

Thoughts and critique are welcome (meaning if you could realize the concept differently, tell me about it). I haven't played a PF Rogue before so I'm kind of breaking one of my own rules, which is to play the Base Class before an Archetype. Scout was just too good to pass up. Lots of skills and an affinity for A.) the woods and B.) DEX/Weapon Finesse. What's not to like?
/ having just said that, I did try and do her up as a Fighter and it was just a flat no-go. I wanted Fighter to be the base for this PC, but the lack of skills, and resources it would take to get them, was just a deal-breaker.

This has given me some ideas. In my KM campaign, my half-orc barbarian has a wife in each town (well, the third is not quite betrothed yet), and that would give me quite a few choices. I mean 4 kids already, 1 well on it's way in the oven, and another newly conceived!. I would have to play another half-orc, but it might be fun to play a half-orc with a spoiled, aristocratic twist!

Right to the crucnch I have to say your 7th level choise is a terrible one.
1 - Powerful sneak reduce your chances to hit in exchance of a real tiny bonus, you have to hit first to deliver your sneak attack damage. That rogue talent is just terrible.
I will consider other rogue talent, like slow reaction or pearless maneuver or some ninja trick, or even better to take Iron will at 7th level.
OR If you really really consider that -to hit, + damage is a fair trade consider Piraha strike, that is a much much better trade.
2 - you do not have vital strike therefore you can not have devastating strike.
3 - If you see the girl in a lot of combat you could dip 3 a level in weapon master. that would increase greatly your chances to hit, specially with gloves of dueling.
I would recommend something like Scout 8/weapon master 3/ scout/x.
Scout 11 have +8 to hit, scout 8/weapon master 3 have +12 with gloves of dueling.

Okay - I will look at that and do some reworking

Good catch. I had considered Vital Strike in the early goings and clearly didn't modify this selection out.

I had considered multi-classing, but I'd rather not. I want to maintain the sneak dice, y'know?Still, I'll read up on Weapon Master. BTW - what are your thoughts on Two-Weapon Warrior?

I am writing a guide about fighters I have a lot of thougt about that archetype :)
lets see, I am on the fence with theTwo-Weapon Warrior is all about full attacking. that can be very dificult if you do not plan the character accordinly. STR ranger have, in his guide about TWF, good tactics to increase your chances of full attacking but I am not enrterily convinced.
At least for this girl weapon master is a much better option since weapon training will help when you have to move and that make good sinergy with the scout abilities.
EDIT: the 9th level ability of the two weapon warrior would be great with the skirmisher ability, that would be 2 sneak attacks afther moving, but I suppose 9th levles are too much levels to dip in.

I'm sure your perception will be grreat without Skill Focus. Personally I would take Doge earlier, but I like AC so I am biased.
As a Half-elf, I'm stuck with a starting Skill Focus. Both of her parents have super-high Perception so I figured if it wasn't genetic, then it was drilled into her early on (stop, look, listen etc.) Note - I did move Dodge up in the re-worked progression
Side Question - in KM, what's your role in the Kingdom? And these wives? Are they "little" marriages or are just "doing right" by the spawn? How is your PC treating 'em? We have a womanizing General in our group and he's pretty set on ignoring any possible/probable spawn. :)
For some weird reason, I imagined Alia Atreides, in a Girl Scout uniform.
Of course you did, BBT. She's not a crazy, spiced-out, Cleric. But that would be a fun character-type to play.
@Nicos - I re-worked her up to 11th, but I'm still having a hard time with that missing Rogue Talent.
3rd - Feat - Two-Weapon Fighting
4th - Combat Trick - Dodge
5th - Feat - Two-Weapon Defense
6th - Follow Clues
7th - Extra Rogue Talent - Offensive Defense
8th - ????
9th - Improved Two-Weapon Fighting
10th - Hunter's Surprise
11th - Iron Will

It seems fine, not uber optimized but good. I think you could take a better feat than two weapon defense, Maybe I am biased but I recommed Iron will at that level. Or maybe shadow strike.
Consider slow defense for your 8th level rogu talent. If your wizard buddy is traped in melee now you ca attack and dny the mosnter the chances to do an AoO so the wizard can run away.

Your reasoning makes sense.
My character (named Noe, see avatar), has a legitimate wife in each town. I figure that Orc society woulf be OK with it. Its a combination of the orcish "one mate per cave" kind of thing, combined with the human "doing right, make it legal" kind of thing. He is an orc of wealth, power, and means after all. His is the kingdom marshall, so he travels more than most. He must split his time between kingdom duties, adventuring, and wifey duties, so one gets to see him more (Gruhla in the capital city of Tuskini), while the others must wait for him to pass through their town every month or three. I leave it to imagination what they do while he is gone. He put a skill point in carpenty, cause he has to patch rooves and fix fences. His daugher Jahzua (by his wife is Tatzleford) is named for her god-father, the kingdom's Magister Joshua, an elf. :) He hated that.
Obviosuly one of the cool things about KM is that for a change, your character can have a career that many lasts years instead of weeks ot months. It only makes sense to me that you would end up with a family. Some races do so with more urgency, given their shorter span of years,

From one Marshall to another - rock on, sir, rock on!

And this is why I have thoroughly enjoyed Kingmaker. We're making a lasting mark in Golarion. Are y'all documenting everything? Making maps and city plans?
/Noe sounds like a cool character BTW. Turin (Elf Ranger) would respect the a fellow outdoorsmen (even if he is half Hu-mon).

As I said in the first post, I've actually got a concrete past from which to draw on for this PC. Kingmaker did that.
Back on topic - I know it's wrong, in my heart anyway, but (Ninja) Combat Trick is pretty slick. It allows me to pick up Dodge earlier then I was going to while maintaining schedule and picking up Imp TWF at 8th level.
Mobility? Overrated?

Threw in a couple of Fighter levels. It retards my Sneak Attack and reduces overall skill points. I dunno, just was never a fan of Multi-classing.
Thoughts?
