Dilute MinWax, Anybody ever try?

Miniatures

I have found that the MinWax I got tends to be too dark if I shake it up, it is typically fine if it has sat for a few days and settled. I was wondering if anyone has every found a good way to dilute it. I am more worried about if I ever get low enough that the settling isn't enough. Would mixing it with Future floor wax do the trick, something else, or is it pretty much a lost cause and at that point I should just toss it?

You might be able to find some pure clear varnish using the same base varnish as minwax and use that to dilute your minwax.

I have a couple shades of minwax so I can do a light dip (pecan, I think) or a heavy dip (walnut, or maybe mahogany).

Minwax polyshades? Should be able to thin it with mineral spirits - but it will increase the drying time.

Hmmm, on second thought I'm not sure what mineral spirits would do to a painted mini. Might want to test that first.
