How much have you spent on Superstar?

Just curious, am I the only one who ends up buying Paizo products for Superstar?

Last year, I ended up getting "Gnomes of Golarion" for an organization that never got more than half done (I still like the idea, but just liked another one better and time was limited).

This year, I bought something to make sure some fluff on my item was appropriate. It ended up affecting I think four words on my item.

I just ended up buying another product for a potential archetype (one of three I've developed so far, so like "Gnomes," it may end up being for naught).

Of course, it's not like I don't enjoy the products and/or can't use them elsewhere, but I was curious if it was just me.

Not yet. I'm fairly comfortable with the Archetype I've developed (if by the grace of god I get into the top 32) and it fits the River Kingdom after a 2 word tweak (based on the Wiki).

Although I'm going to stock up if I DO get to the archetype round (and past).

Eleventy million dollars ...

To be honest, I have not spent anything specifically for the contest, but I think that may be due to having purchased so many products just for general gameplay.

Now if we're including a cash equivalent based off of pay rate and time spent designing and voting ... Well the head just swims thinking a out it. ;)

Marathon Voter Season 6, Marathon Voter Season 7, Star Voter Season 8

I tend to buy most Pathfinder books that come out anyway... not necessarily for Superstar.

Marathon Voter Season 6

I haven't personally spent any money on the contest, but my fiance' and I run multiple groups both tabletop and one online so he's got subscriptions to all the major books thus I have access to them both in print and pdf anyway.

I picked up a copy of The Guide to the River Kingdoms for this year, but that's a hole in my collection I'd intended to fill anyways, so it's win-win.

Grand Lodge Dedicated Voter Season 6, Star Voter Season 7, Dedicated Voter Season 8

I was just thinking about this earlier. I own most of what I wanted for research, but brought forward buying a scenario that might be relevant.

I've spent time...lots and lots of time. On my item, voting, sketching out archetypes, voting...did I mention voting? Why am I still voting? I have writing to do!

Because we failed our Fortitude saves.

I think it's a Will save. The Fortitude save comes later when you're worn down from voting that much. And, for those who make it to the Top 32, they're the ones who have to make Reflex saves. Lots and lots of Reflex saves. ;-)

Ah, so THAT'S what those were. No wonder I felt so drained afterwards. Dex is a bit of a dump stat for me.

I was saving up for one AP (Serpent's Skull) and ended up getting Kingmaker PDFs and the River Kingdom's Guide (before it was announced that we would get that for free if we made the top 32. :/ Lousy timing!). Would probably have gotten these at some time anyway, but it was accelerated by the contest.

Hmmm, let's see, 136 orders, 3 active subscriptions, currently 431 downloadable files >.<

Wife answer: Too much!

Me (gamer for life): Moar! Moar I say!

Admittedly, I tend to buy the big core books in hard copy, but the majority is pdf only.

Oh yeah, 64 items on my main wishlists :P

Will saves? Nah, they are for wusses :P - go tank, lots of Con and one day we can soak the damage and stay standing :D

Yeah as I was reading through this exchange I had the same thought...Dex is not by best stat by any account. Why did't any one warn us about reflex saves?!

Wonder if I have time to craft a belt of physical might for Dex and Con before the next round. hmmm

Nothing *specifically* for Superstar. But I spend a lot of Pathfinder in general so it was pre-funded.

Actually I was thinking of the Addiction rules subset which would be Fortitude.

I planned to get a copy of the ISWG this year, so I would have it for this year's contest. I won a copy at Green Blood on Black Rock (and even cheered saying 'now I can win RPGSS! :) I did get the ARG so I could explore new design niches and because I expected one of the rounds to be based on it. I would have bought a hardback anyway, RPGSS just helped me decide which one.

I can say that I purchase every module (adventure?) to come out of RPG SuperStar and when I look for new PFS scenerios I look at those by the Top 4 first. :)

Feel sorry for me the completionist - 64 items left to go and I have it all to the end of 2012 - problem is, we are already competing to produce moar in 2013 >.<

Ohhh, while I remember, I have set myself another marathon task for next weekend.

I am thinking about compiling a list of "average/ranges" for parts of the Bestiary entries by CR, .. something like

Hit Points

CR 1 - 6 thru 10 average 8.4
CR 2 - 9 thru 16 average 13.6 (these are made up by the way, they are just illustrative)
CR 3....

DR / SR
CR 1 - 40 creatures, 2 have DR
CR 2 - 34 creatures, 4 have DR, 2 have SR and 1 has DR & SR...

etc

Anyone know if this has already been done or am I number crunching for a few days ?

Yeah, I am sad, I have no life - I'm a true gamer geek :P

That's more for a physical substance you take inside your body...hence, the Fortitude save for how well your body "resists" the addiction. For an external stimulus, such as the RPG Superstar phenomenon, I still think you go Will save all the way. For instance, I've been making some *major* Will saves to resist the temptation to try for the Champion Voter tag. I've just got too much else to do right now. So, I've received a special circumstance bonus that's made all the difference. ;-)

It kind of forced me to buy Bestiary 2 and 3, didn't really need them before with stats in published materials combined with the SRD. I'm glad I did buy hard copies of them though, they're really well done and the art is fantastic. Maybe I'm old school too, but I enjoy reading from books more than PDFs.

And the Ultimate Equipment PDF. I own the hardcopy, but being able to search the PDF based on keywords was extremely useful.

I dinnae know about a compiled list, but a spreadsheet can do the math for you pretty quickly. If you want a marathon task you should write up three encounters of differing levels. Or the outline of an adventure proposal (or more of differing levels). Or one PFS quest submission. :)

I take no credit for that spreadsheet, btw. I just found it, and like it. A lot.

Awesome thanks - from someone who has yet to scratch the surface of monster creation, that will be very useful indeed.
