Anyone else read a lot of him? I really like his Newford series, especially the "cold peace" between the Native American cousins (animal people) and immigrant European faeries.

It's really cool how main characters in some stories are supporting characters in other stories. It leads to a big, inter-connected cast of characters.

I also like that a lot of Newford sounds like my neighborhood.

I was just very, very disappointed by Onion Girl, the Jilly Coppercorn novel; enjoyed the short story anthologies though. He's written about 50 books about Newford, and you'll absolutely love half of them. :)

LOVE DeLint! Yes his descriptions of the setting are SO REAL. I thought it was Seattle, but he's been coy in interviews and doesnt tell for sure, but I bet he's seen a lot of places (or just alleyways) that spark some thought that he incorporates into Newford.

Dreams Underfoot was where I started...good lord 1993? I dont think I read it then. But I do remember reading it along with Ivory and the Horn, so maybe '95 ish.

I like Onion Girl okay, but it was a tad depressing.

I just finished Under My Skin, about teenage animal people in a Newford-ish California town.

Newford reminds me of the Allentown district of Buffalo. Lots of bars, live music, galleries, restaurants, grit, and colorful characters. Kind of industrial, but with lots of parks, pedestrian shopping, and a thriving theater district. 10 minutes from Canada.

Grand Lodge

I listened to Moonheart and enjoyed it quite a bit.
