I had just learned about pathfinder a month ago from my friends and classmates and decided to see what it was all about by watching youtube videos and buying the beginner box. O boy that beginner box was great. If I had only the monster that is the core rulebook, I would have been scared out of Pathfinder because it looked too complex. That beginner box helped make the transition easier for me as a first time Roleplayer and first time DM. Four weeks later, I have in my possession the core rulebook, the advanced race guide, ultimate combat, ultimate Magic, Gamemastery guide, Rise of the Runelords Anniversary edition, Kingmaker adventure path: the stolen lands, the 4 beginner's box miniatures, and the miniatures for shalelu, seoni, and nualia. I have been having a great time playing Pathfinder and can't wait to buy the npc codex. Thank you and keep up the great work!
Hey, Kay, and welcome to the boards! Thanks for the kind words. We put in a lot of work on Pathfinder, and fans like you are the reason we're able to keep doing it! :D

...so, are you just new to this, or are you one who started out with 3.5e?

I am brand new to this. My gaming group consists of video gamers/board gamers who have never ever played a role playing game! We can't wait for the next session and we bring up pathfinder in our conversations, talking about what we are going to do next and talking about new abilities and talking about new things we found online. Pathfinder has us all addicted!
I'm not a newbie, but I too thank pathfinder for this amazing game. Please don't ever change the rules and go to a new edition. I hate buying the same stuff over and over again. Thanks paizo for keeping the spirit of the best version alive.
I'd only played D&D twice in college - judging by the year, I think we were playing 3rd. I was unenthralled with the world thanks to a poor DM and poor players, and the world of D&D wasn't really my thing.
Then I discovered Pathfinder, and decided to give it a shot because the world was so well developed, and there seemed like there was such a focus on quality (quality that has been confirmed after getting further into it). 3 years later its my favorite time waster :)
Welcome to the boards, Kay!
Kay makes a great point, thank you Paizo! I've been playing/dming for 2 years now and it has just been absolutely wonderful!
Don't be too proud of this technological terror you've constructed. The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force.
I find your lack of faith... disturbing. ^_^
This bickering is pointless...

I started out Playing Pathfinder at TotalCon 2012. I played Castles and Crusades, Pathfinder, and 4th Edition. My dad gave me a choice of what to follow, and I chose Pathfinder. I got the core rules for my birthday in march, contacted the society in July, and started playing in October. My dad recently asked me if I regret my choice, and I told him "No @#$%!%& way."
