I have just recently started GMing for PFS and I am trying to take advantage of the recent Reaper Kickstarter to obtain a collection of minis for play. My question is, has anyone ever needed a HUGE dragon mini for PFS play, or have LARGE dragon minis always been sufficient for the scenarios thus far for characters through 12th level?
I don't mean to prompt any spoilers, I'm just trying to figure out what to buy.

It is a lot of painting. I still bought them, though.
Mimo, I've found that there are core things you want for your minis that will cover about 90% of what you run. The weird stuff you'll never be able to predict, and will often trip you up. Oozes, plants, creepy-crawlies and some of the more bizzaro creatures are tricky to put together, but are out there (especially in the Pathfinder Battles line).
I have one sure-fire suggestion: as a GM in my store, you are always free to borrow minis from my personal collection, and I don't have very many holes at this point. Just give me a heads-up the day before your scenario and I can grab what you need. Plus, I just bought a HUGE D&D Miniatures collection for the store, and have tons of options in prepainted stuff for sale.

I've played/run a number of scenarios so far which involve huge creature sizes, but not necessarily dragons. Having minis of that size is always an asset.
I don't suppose you might be willing to share scenario #s (either here or in a private message) for a GM looking for something "big" to throw at his players? Even if the encounters aren't "huge", some of the locals here I think would get an epic-fight-feeling if they had something "huge" on the table to contend with.
(Presently the best I can do is use large->huge minis for statues in Blackros Museum scenarios...)

Thanks for the responses, especially Drogon (I will definitely have to take you up on that for my prep of “Runecarved Key”). I was half-way hoping you guys would tell me I had no legitimate excuse for buying a big dragon, but the other half of me thanks you for the validation. :)
To the chagrin of some of my tablemates, I’ve found that with the metal mini’s I have so far I actually prefer them to be unpainted. I would rather just have a silhouette suggesting what is there, rather than a full-color depiction that doesn't match the character image I have in my mind. I suspect this may change with the Reaper Bones figures though, since they are so white.

I actually just ran this over the weekend. There's a fantastic mass battle at the end with two huge monsters who confront each other, one of which becomes controlled by a PC for the duration of the fight.
The fight involving the huge creatures prolly won't last that long, but it's worth it for the look on the player's face as he says "wait, I get to play THAT?"

One of these days, I want to make a Bard who will use that "Beguiling trade" (can't remember the spell's exact name) spell, and give a BBEG an "Apple of Eternal Sleep" from UE. And/or offer to be voluntarily swallowed in order to have the apple affect the monster upon "biting" - sort of like Tommy Lee Jones in Men in Black. "I like this gun."
Sorry, that was slightly off-topic, but your witch comment made me remember that idea and I wanted to put in "on paper" before I forgot it again :)

Beguiling Gift. And yes, I thought of it a few times as well, and the only thing that is preventing me from doing it is that stupid range of touch.
