River Into Darkness - Alternative Locale for Bloodcove in Varisia?

I want to run River Into Darkness for my players, but they are situated in the Mushfens of Varisia (between Magnimar and Korvosa). They are low-level, but I figure - random encounters alone - may boost them above the encounter level of the adventure once they reach Mwangi. (Yes, was planning on a sea trek and wanted to play it out some.) Then it occurred to me that maybe I can set this adventure in Varisia instead, which would make more sense location-wise. I'm just trying to figure out where I would place it. I'm thinking the rivers and lakes between the Mushfens and Kaer Maga may work geographically, but then, what do I do with Bloodcove? Boot it and have the base of operations be Korvosa or Magnimar instead?

It does kind of kill the entire amazon/congo theme to the module though.
