You presume too much from my comments. I purposely said 'age/maturity level', as obviously everyone isnt the same. All kids arent going to have the same grasp of the rules at the same time.
I base my presumption that they arent ready not because of their age, but because of their seeming lack of understanding with how the rules of the game operate. I dont expect them (or anyone for that matter) to know every nuance of the game, but having a basic understanding is key, which several of my kids do not yet possess.
My question was simply that, a question. I did not intend my post to appear as me condescending to you, or to make it seem like you shouldnt have been GMing whenever you feel like, so I apologize if that is how it appeared.

I am in your camp (the camp that says not everyone can or should GM). You are raising the same possibility I (and others) raised: not everyone CAN or SHOULD take on the role of Game Master. But, in an effort to get along, I can also agree that everyone CAN and SHOULD be given the OPTION to take on the role of Game Master.
So, obviously, I'm willing to shake hands and make up with anyone. I've seen you post many times, and believe you are as reasonable as I.
Therefore, shall we? <holds out hand>
