Season 1-2 Faction Missions

This has probably been addressed somewhere, but I can’t seem to find it.

How do I assign Faction Missions for Seasons 1 & 2 to characters that belong to a faction that did not exist at that time? Do I just assign them another faction’s mission, or let them choose which faction to serve (sight unseen)?

It's in the guide (somewhere =p), but Shadow Lodge = Cheliax, Silver Crusade = Andoran, Szcarni = Taldor, Lantern Lodge = Qadira, and Grand Lodge = Osirion. You just give the new faction the appropriate mission and go from there.
