Just to add to the fun, I was in a promoting mood, so I added the title of Chief Creative Officer (CCO) to Erik's Publisher title, since he always complains that he doesn't get to do anything creative anymore. :) And Vic Wertz was promoted to Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for his 10 years of amazing work overseeing all the tech things and website things at Paizo.

Making up new positions for people is fun! In my nonprofit I gave someone the title of MEO (Mood Enhancement Officer) in honor of Paranoia.

Great, I'll just call everyone who works at Paizo "Chief" now. It'll keep me from having to remember names. :P
Congrats Erik and Vic too.
Hey, Lisa, let Erik create something once in a while. He's really good at it; so good, in fact, I hear he was just given a "Chief Officer" position related to the field.

Gratz Jeff.
What is a COO?
His job is to lighten up stressful meetings by pulling out a baby and tossing it on the table for everyone to coo at. Really COO is the baby's job, but most companies prefer to hire a baby wrangler to raising the things themselves. That way when one goes bad they can just get a new one and not have to worry about proper disposal. The hard part is if one baby isn't enough. A good COO needs to know when he should be tossing up two or three at a time to meet the demand. A COO who doesn't anticipate the demand may be torn apart by bears in some older companies, but I'm sure Paizo uses an oubliette instead. It's more humane and the skeleton can be recycled into a morale enhancement tool.
Just think how much awesome in the books must have come from that extra little bit they get because now and then the executives play Vanna White with a freshly-harvested skeleton. Maybe it's only an idea or two per book, but they really add up.

I think it's rare to find someone who so embodies their role at a company that they absolutely exceed everyone's expectations time and time again. Paizo has people like that in spades as far as I'm concerned. To me, Jeff always has a get-it-done attitude, paired with a do-what's-right philosophy and good sense of humor even in the midst of chaotic and sometimes trying situations. He's generous to a fault and sets the bar for what a COO and customer-service-oriented person ought to be...whether it's for a gaming company like Paizo or any other.
Congratulations, Jeff. And thank you again for all that you do.
My two cents,

As Ed Healy posted the video of Jeff's promotion and I told the "True Hollywood Story", here I wanted to spread the word of what was happening when he was "helping a customer" while Lisa Stevens was giving her speach filled with lauds and accolades for him.
He was helping me. And it makes him all the more awesome in my eyes for it.
Jeff ... you're a king, saint, and Good Guy ™ in my book.
Just as my way of saying thanks: if you ever want a portrait done, a character sketch, or any kind of art done, it's yours for the asking. My way of saying thanks.
Here's my Gallery for you to take a look at, if you ever decide to let me give you a thank you gift. :)

Well then Jeff should get a raise to go with that promotion. ;)
