Hello and and hope your having a good day, right then to the point. I'm needing some help in trying to make 2 characters, a freind of mind need a character for the campain with the part I'm. So the 2 I had in mind for her is ether a ranger and a gunslinger. I know dex would be the main stat for both but other then that I'm not sure what other stat be good. I'm mainly making them more of a damage deal with some rogue skills sense we dont have a rogue in the party. The stat numbers are 18, 18, 16, 14, 12, 10. The DM gave us each of those for stats so its pretty good numbers. So as I said I'm trying to make 2 pure class's with some rogue skills and do good range damage and 10k worth of gold to spin on magical items. I have a few ideas in mind but I would like some types and ideas from others to help give me a better idea what my freind could do. So any takers?

certainly wisdom is an important part of any ranger, but it doesn't need to be as cosmically high as 18 since there is only 4 spell levels and the basting is rather a secondary part of a ranger.
Gunslingers have the Grit class feature which also depends on wisdom.
Constitution is an obvious take for all classes. Everyone needs hitpoints some times.
Let's see here, for a ranger i would probably go
STR 18
DEX 18
CON 14
INT 12
WIS 16
CHA 10
Use a race with a dexterity bonus, or for Humans, Half-orcs or -elves put the bonus into dexterity. Why such a high strength for an archery ranger? Because of composite bows. They will give you a good damage modifier. Wisdom will provide you with good casting, constitution will give you a decent amount of extra hit points even if not an amazing amount. Intelligence is pretty unnecessary due to your already solid number of skill points and charisma as with most non-spontaneous-spellcaster classes is borderline useless.
As for gunslingers i would probably divide it as such:
STR 12
DEX 18
CON 18
INT 14
WIS 16
CHA 10
or
STR 12
DEX 18
CON 16
INT 14
WIS 18
CHA 10
Charisma is always the drop stat since its the least use for you. Strength at least gives you the ability to throw in a melee attack if the situation calls for it. Intelligence however is more useful as it gives you some extra skill points and helps with your gunsmithing skill. Wisdom because of grit con will make your character nice and tough and Dexterity should be your main focus recieving both racial (if you are human, half-orc or -elf) and level bonuses because it governs both firearm attack rolls and at 5th level damage.
Alternativels you could switch out WIS and CON since more grit means more gunslinging tricks, which is probably the better way to go if you want more damage dealt.

You could also look at the arcane duelist (bard archetype) or the archeologist (also a bard archetype, has disable device). The bard's spells (like sleep) and performance will help the party deal damage.
If you want to stick to the two classes you've mentioned:
Ranger:
The Urban Ranger archetype gets Disable Device.
Other than that you don't need to invest in any Rogue skills, except Escape Artist, which you can get from a trait.
About the stat array: this depends a lot on which class you/your friend is going to pick. Looking at this stat array, i'd suggest Dwarf or Half-orc
You'd want the 18's in dex and wis, a good will save is very important.
I'd advise to put the 10 in Intelligence, the 12 in Charisma
As for items, you'd probably want a bonus to dexterity, a cloak of resistance, and bracers of armor or a ring of protection.
As you're bound to come across a lot of evil creatures, a Holy bow is useful.
See Treantmonk's Ranger Guide for more advice on the Ranger.
Gunslinger:
-Get a gun with the "reliable" enchantment as fast as possible.
-Get the weapon finesse and precise shot feats. In fact, the gunslinger needs a lot of feats, so picking human as a race isn't a bad idea.
