Howdy y'all.
Here's my question. I'm in a pretty dangerous campaign (and I mean dangerous...only one PC has survived all the sessions, nearly everyone else has had to remake a character on at least one occasion), so I thought to increase my chances of survival, I'd try and optimize my sorcerer. I'm currently thinking Ratfolk Sorcerer, Arcane Bloodline, with the Sage archetype from Ultimate Magic so that I can both have a slightly more useful 1st level ability, as well as take advantage of the Ratfolk's intelligence modifier and yet still play a sorcerer? Any opinions on what feats to choose? Spells? Items?
In any case, thank you all in advance for you time...

There are a lot of defensive illusions so pick up some of those and don't forget about the spell false life. Otherwise stay back from the big monsters trying to kill you. Placement and solid tactics are the backbone of staying alive. As far as items the standard +x ac and +x resistance and grab something to get you out of harms way like a ring of invisibility or the one item (boots maybe) that let you dimension door.

Sage is a good archetype, being Int-based is a huge boon.
Mirror Image is your best defense against physical attacks for a huge part of the game (beats displacement, usually) - only really foiled by true seeing, which doesn't show up until quite late. Try to have it up whenever combat is a risk - should be easy to do with all your spell slots.
Later on you should be flying all the time, hopefully keeping you out of harms way. Dimension Door is also a got spell for surviving - it's V only, so you can cast it when otherwise unable to move. You can even use it if something eats you :-)
The other main PC killer is spells. Always try to have as good saves as possible - especially fort, since that's your weak point. A good Con score will help out with both this and your low hp.
First priority for items are Headband of Intellect and Cloak of Resistance.
